Make Up by Dani Mae

I’ve known Emma since she was 15! Over the last 10 years she’s become like a sister to me. So it was a huge joy and honor when she asked me to help her get ready for her wedding 🥹 Em is passionate about color and has the best taste! She asked for lavender under her eyes (obviously had to use my fave Bright Stripe eyeliner), which she matched with lavender french tips and the best green earrings 😭 stunning. Jessie’s bridesmaids wear varying amounts of makeup in their daily lives and it was important to her that they felt comfortable on her wedding day (what a friend!). Em & Laura (pics 1-2 & 5-6) like to have a little more coverage and more on the eyes, while Taylah doesn’t like to wear much makeup and usually just uses a bit of mascara on the eyes.

In order to cater to each girl’s individual preferences while still making sure their makeup would look cohesive in the photos, I pulled back Em & Laura’s heavier eyeshadow looks by using brown shadow as eyeliner to soften the look, and I “did up” Taylah’s simple eye look with a few individual lashes just on the ends. Em & Laura’s foundation was Double Wear for more coverage, and Taylah’s was Face & Body, which evened out her skin tone without looking or feeling too heavy.

Every Saturday, I’m filled with so much gratefulness because I get to do what I love! I love doing a lot of things, and I’m very blessed to have an outlet for all those things. I know I say it about every single client, but I really do get to work with the best people! I often get asked if I have to deal with a lot of “bridezillas”, but I honestly have never had an unkind client.

My bride yesterday, Jessie, was as sweet and lovely as they come. She doesn’t typically wear a lot of makeup, so she wanted to feel as confident and “herself” as possible on her big day. We went with the Face & Body foundation for a natural finish, blush in “Cherie” for a natural flush on the lips and cheeks, fanned out her natural lashes without adding falsies, and a brush up of the brows with brow freeze. On the lids, just a slight contouring with Glowish, and a natural glow with Off Duty Glass Stick.

Sometimes as makeup artists we want to put our own spin on our work which is important, but I’ve also learned the importance of listening to the client. Jessie’s comment of, “I’m so happy I found you and Shannon so I can feel confident and not worry about anything!” was the greatest reward for me! Hair by the talented

My friend got MARRIED in December and I was so honored to help her and her beautiful bridesmaids get ready on the day! Bec loves her makeup as natural as possible, and has the most beautiful freckles, so we went for a really light and natural coverage with a bit of definition to the eyes.

A few weeks ago (always delayed 😫) with bridesmaid , who has the EASIEST face to makeup - just look at those features! I had the loveliest time exchanging makeup/skincare recommendations with her and this was definitely the moment that convinced me to get the iPhone 13 to up my Instagram game 😜

Now that I’ve taken a nap and recovered from the 3am wake up time, here’s one of the beautiful faces I got to do makeup on from this morning’s wedding 💕 the brief was “soft smokey glam”. you’re the most gorgeous maid of honour!
