Last Thursday evening, I had the pleasure of attending the *Sound Bath Journey, Cacao & Burn Ceremony* hosted by Nicole Sheehan from Tranquil Soul Sounds at the Sophia Centre.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered. Beautiful flowers adorned each place setting, lovely gift packs awaited us, and we were welcomed with specially blended tea served in elegant china teacups. The warm cacao ceremony was a beautiful way to slow down, connect, and become present.
As part of the evening, we participated in a Full Moon Burn Ceremony, taking time to reflect on what we wished to release and leave behind. This was followed by a deeply relaxing sound bath journey that allowed us to completely unwind and recharge.
In a world that often feels busy and noisy, evenings like these remind us of the importance of creating space for stillness, reflection, and self-care. Thank you, Nicole, for such a beautifully curated and nurturing experience. It was a wonderful evening, and I left feeling calm, grounded, and refreshed. ✨🌕💛

I recently listened to a podcast with **Mel Robbins** and **Dr Tara Narula** on stress, resilience, and finding purpose, and one message really stayed with me:
**You are stronger than you think.**
When life feels uncertain, many of us focus on what is going wrong or what we can't control. Yet research continues to show that resilience isn't something we're born with—it's something we build through small daily habits.
Some of the most powerful ways to strengthen resilience include:
✔ Having a sense of purpose or something meaningful to work towards
✔ Spending time in nature
✔ Moving your body regularly
✔ Practising breathwork and mindfulness
✔ Speaking to yourself with kindness and encouragement
✔ Investing in your social connections
One of my favourite concepts from the podcast was the idea of being a **lighthouse, not a lifeboat**.
A lighthouse doesn't rescue every ship. It stands strong, shines its light, and helps others find their way.
As women, parents, carers, leaders, and friends, we often try to carry everyone else's problems. Perhaps sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is look after our own wellbeing and simply be a steady presence for those around us.
What's one thing you do to build resilience when life gets stressful?
At Flourish with Rachel, creating opportunities for people to reconnect with themselves, build confidence, and strengthen meaningful connections is at the heart of everything we do.

Many children now spend more hours on screens than ever before, and experts are increasingly raising concerns about the impact this can have on confidence, communication skills, sleep, focus, and mental wellbeing.
What so many young people are really craving is connection.
Real conversations.
Real experiences.
Real confidence.
One of the things I love most about our holiday programs is watching friendships form naturally, often between children who didn’t know a single person when they arrived.
There’s something so powerful about:
✨ trying something new,
✨ learning practical life skills,
✨ laughing together,
✨ stepping outside comfort zones,
✨ and building confidence in the real world, not just online.
The July school holidays are approaching soon, and places are filling up fast.
Sometimes the best thing we can give young people is not another device…
…but an experience they’ll actually remember.

My current afternoon comfort combo ☕🤎
If you still love the ritual of a warm drink, but don’t want the caffeine hit… these two are my favourites right now:
🍵 Rooibos — smooth, comforting and tea-like
☕ Roasted dandelion blend — rich and earthy with a coffee-style flavour
Both are delicious with a splash of milk and perfect for that cosy afternoon pick-me-up without affecting your sleep.
A little reminder that slowing down can be as simple as putting the kettle on 💛
