Let’s start with seasonal hair loss, which is temporary and can be a sporadic occurrence that’s totally normal. There are many reasons why it happens, such as illness, infections, medication use (like steroids), periods of stress, post-surgery recovery, and even pregnancy! While we might associate pregnancy with hormonal changes, but it is temporary.
If you’re experiencing seasonal hair loss, and you’re unsure why it’s important to identify the underlying cause and address it accordingly. In some cases, the hair may regrow once the underlying issue is resolved. Yet, using products specifically designed to promote hair growth can help speed up the process.
Next is hormonal. Now a lot falls under this category and you’ll think of this as being a more of a slow burn of hair loss. Hormonal hair loss refers to hair loss that occurs as a result of hormonal imbalances in the body. Hormones play a critical role in regulating various bodily functions, including hair growth. Fluctuations in hormone levels can disrupt the hair growth cycle and lead to hair loss.

One of the most common causes of hormonal hair loss is androgenetic alopecia, also known as male or female pattern baldness. This condition is caused by an excess of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that is derived from testosterone. DHT shrinks hair follicles, shortening their lifespan and leading to thinner and shorter hair.

Other hormonal imbalances that can cause hair loss include changes in estrogen and progesterone levels, such as those that occur during perimenopause, and menopause. Thyroid imbalances can also disrupt the hair growth cycle and lead to hair loss.

Throwing it all the way back to 1977 in Rundle Mall! A year on from its transition from street traffic to foot traffic, the newly renovated Mall became home to the now famous public art installation, 'The Spheres'.

Commonly referred to as the 'Malls Balls' by local Adelaideans, Vienna-born artist Bert Flugelman brought the piece to life with the hope that passers-by would interact with the piece. Years later, his sentiment still rings true, as locals and tourists alike utilise the artwork as a place to meet, a place to capture a snapshot of their visit, or for children to play in the reflections.
