Lokk Twists
Hand made. Fair trade. Lokk Twists are the perfect way to tie back your hair. Lokk Twists are hand made in Ghana by the Aussieghana Women's Co-operative. Open.
Great for dreadlocks or natural hair, they will keep your hair looking amazing all day, without breakage or damage. Providing better than fair trade wages, this life changing project is helping to empower women in the Town Council Line community of Accra. A portion of each Lokk Twist sold provides education and school resources for their children. Thank you for supporting this important project, while at the same time rocking your locks! Wrap. Twist. Would you like to help us support our community and the ladies who make our Lokk Twists this Christmas.
Happy Friday! While we are getting closer every day to completing our women's shelter, we continue, as we always have, to do as much as we can to support other people in need.
This year has been more difficult than most for families in Ghana due to lockdown restrictions. There is no such thing as Government support and most people rely on daily money to feed their families, which they need to go out and work to earn.
We want to do something special for families in the Town Council Line Community as that is where our family lives as well as most of the people who help us with the shelter.
We are planning a community feast, if you look through our older photos, we did something similar in a community in Tema where we helped feed 1200 children. It was a very humbling event and the emotions we felt that day, stay with us 10 years later.
We would love to feed as many people as we can, so we are planning on asking our sisters and aunties to cook up a huge feast and distribute food packs to families in the community.
We have worked out that $10 will feed a family of four, so it's not expensive but every donation will go a long way.
If you want to give the Gift of Hope this Christmas please join us in sharing food with people who need it. As always, every dollar raised goes directly to people in need as we pay all of our own administration costs.
We are planning to start with $400 of our own money but thought we'd throw it out there to see if our community would like to join us in sharing love and food this Christmas and see how much we can raise and how many we can feed!
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to this event and/or our shelter project, please click on the PayPal link above as Facebook don't take fees when we use this method. If you prefer we can give you our bank details for transfer.
Big love and hugs from us to you - Shanton and Rae-Anne

Christmas is fast approaching and we know many people are looking to give more sustainable, ethical gifts.
We are delighted to announce that we now have gift vouchers in time for Christmas gift giving. Every single dollar goes straight to our project; no admin costs, no wages, no advertising, every donation goes right to where it's needed.
If you would like to give the gift of hope this Christmas, please consider buying a gift voucher for someone in your life.
All donations are 100% tax deductible. Payments can be made either via PayPal or direct credit.
You can choose the denomination and we will create your own certificate to print off and gift.
Help us keep them safe.

๐ ๐๐CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!๐๐๐
We have fundraised $6,551 for our charities Welcoming Australia and Aussieghana Relief! This has been an incredible experience and we are so excited for Cultural Night 2020!
Half of these funds will be used for running Welcoming Australia, a support network and space for people of refugee backgrounds and newly arrived migrants to Adelaide.
The other half will be used for purchasing resources to build Ghanaโs first womenโs shelter, protecting women and families from domestic violence.
None of this would have been possible without the generous contributions of our sponsors:
โข Expert Education and Visa Services Adelaide
โข StudyAdelaide
โข Rotary Club of Adelaide
โข Rotary Prospect
THANK YOU!
Thank you to all the volunteers whoโve contributed many, many hours to the event, thank you to all of our in-kind sponsors for your support, and thank you to all of the guests and attendees! ๐
BRAVO ADELAIDE! See you next year ๐

Hello friends. We have just received over 200 beautiful new Lokk Twists in two sizes, to suit all hair types and lengths.
For every three Lokk Twists you buy we will gift you one as a thank you.
We would love to give Ramatu the opportunity to make another large batch, so we are making this offer available while stocks last.
Lokk Twists are made in Ghana from African wax fabric, we pay better than fair trade rates and this project provides a sustainable income for women in the Town Council Line community. Currently we have enough orders to keep Ramatu busy but weโd love to increase our output and provide more women with a safe, ethical opportunity for work and a better future for themselves and their children.
Wholesale enquiries welcome. ๐๐๐
