Brush care. This is an important step that every makeup artist needs to do to maintain hygiene and cleanliness while they work. I like to deep clean my brushes and tools after every makeup booking. I give them a deep clean with some brush soap. I lay them flat to dry and once they're dry I then use a professional grade brush cleaner to make sure every last bit of product has been removed. The products I currently use are CINEMA SECRETS Inc.]

This may seem like a simple fact, but using skincare in the incorrect order can make them ineffective.

Each product has a specific purpose and should be used in the following order. Note that not every type of product needs to be used in your skin care routine, however they must be used in this order.

Cleanser
Toner
Serum and/or oils
Eye Cream
Moisturiser
Sunscreen

The reason for this, is that each product has a specific job to do. Your cleanser cleanes your skin, and removes impurities so it needs to be used first. Your moisturiser locks moisture into your skin by creating a barrier on the skin, therefore it needs to be used as one of the last products. Anything used after a moisturiser won't be absorbed into the skin.

As a rule of thumb, the lightest products are generally used first followed by the thicker products.

And remember, cleansed and hydrated skin is best for makeup application.
