Celebrating 25 years of business with a special team day out! 💘 We kicked off the day by exploring the Monet to Matisse exhibition at the Art Gallery of South Australia, followed by a wonderful dinner celebrating! Thanks to our wonderful team for joining this team day out 🫶

25 YEARS OF KABUKI HAIR 🤍✂️🎈

It started in 2001 with a chance conversation over dinner, a vision, about $40,000 scraped together through family loans and favours from friends, and sheer determination.

When we opened the doors to our first home at 177 King William Road, we had no idea just how incredible—and wild—the next 25 years would be across three locations.
A few things we’ll never forget along the way:

☕ Annie’s mum, Bev, coming in just to help—answering phones, welcoming clients, and making endless cups of tea purely out of love.
🏠 Thinking we’d just “do up” our permanent home at 35 Unley Road, only to end up gutting every wall, ripping off the roof, and putting our blood, sweat, and tears into building our dream salon.
👶 Raising two daughters right alongside the business, growing our personal family as the Kabuki family grew.
📚 Training apprentices from the ground up and building an education-first culture that became the true DNA of our salon.
💪 Facing the terrifying uncertainty of COVID and realising just how much love and loyalty surrounded us when our team and clients stood by our side.

Beyond the industry awards, the travel, and the shiny milestone numbers, Kabuki has always been about the people.

To our family and friends who helped shape pivotal chapters of our history… to every apprentice who grew into an incredible stylist here… to our team, who turn work into a place we genuinely love to be… and to our clients, who have trusted us with their hair, their stories, and their lives across multi-generations: THANK YOU.

25 years later, we’re evolving, still educating, still creating beautiful hair, and still laughing every single day. 🥂✨
