Its always surreal when you loose a client. I guess most of my clients have become someone you share your life with. You talk about family, holidays, share your bad days and good ones. Some ive known over 10 or 15 yrs. Its surreal because oneday you are cutting their hair, chatting, laughing. And then they are gone. Just like that. Just a sweet memory. RIP Beryl.

It was an honor to do dear Shauns hair. He was a true gentleman and such a kind soul. 103 yo and still living in his own home. He passed peacefully with his family by his side. Such an inspiring man.

Sometimes we forget what our seniors have done for us all.What hard times they have lived through. They deserve our love and respect . Yes they can be stubborn, and sometimes a bit grumpy, but losing your independence, and dealing with old age is not for the weak. It can be lonely, and sad. So just saying "hello, how are you", can make them feel a little less invisible.

Its just part of my day. Its more then just haircuts.

After 3 weeks wonderful holidays its back to work. I am so lucky to love my job and enjoy time with my clients. When you say yes to a coffee and get this.

Everyday my lovely elderly clients say things like "Don't get old" or " old age sucks". I see their struggles, and tough days. But i also see the wonderful help they get from family, and aged care workers. Im enjoying this new chapter of my working life focusing on those who need some extra help and support.
