Why do we tell you to SHAVE before laser?🪒

One of the biggest questions we get is:

“Why can I shave before laser, but I can’t wax?”

Here’s why.

Laser needs the **hair follicle to still be there**.

When you wax, pluck or epilate, you’re pulling the hair out from the root — which means there’s nothing there for the laser to effectively target.

Shaving is completely different.

It removes the hair sitting above the skin, while leaving the hair and follicle underneath for the laser to target.

And no — shaving does **not** make your hair grow back thicker or darker. That’s another myth!

So before your appointment:

🪒 Shave the treatment area as instructed

❌ Don’t wax

❌ Don’t pluck

❌ Don’t epilate

We want that follicle right where it is so we can say… bye bye hair👋🏼

Not every part of a renovation is pretty… but this is definitely one of the important ones.

This episode was all about getting the electrical sorted and installing our new ducted air conditioning throughout the salon.

With new treatment rooms, lighting, equipment and an entirely new layout, there was SO much happening behind the walls and in the ceiling to make sure everything was exactly where we needed it.

And of course, ducted air con was a MUST. 🙌🏼 There is nothing worse than trying to relax during a treatment when you’re freezing or way too hot 😂

It’s one of those stages where it doesn’t necessarily look like the biggest transformation, but it means we’re getting closer and closer to everything actually coming together.

There is still PLENTY happening with the renovations and a lot more episodes to come, but getting to unwrap this and finally see it sitting inside the new salon was such an exciting little moment amongst all the construction chaos.

I’ve been picturing all of these pieces together for so long, so seeing even one part of the vision in real life makes me even more excited for what’s to come.

Day 2 was all about diving deeper into advanced skin tech, testing new professional formulas, and connecting with industry innovators. Every conversation and live demo had me thinking about one thing: how we can elevate your experience and bring the absolute best in affordable luxury right home to Armidale.

Leaving Sydney feeling so inspired, energized, and ready to get back into the salon with exciting ideas, fresh knowledge, and maybe even a few new additions to our treatment menu… 👀☁️

This was one of those moments where everything started to feel real.

After weeks of demolition, framing and plasterboard, the plastering has completely transformed the space. It’s amazing what smooth walls can do.

It’s funny how every stage feels like a small step at the time, but when you look back, you realise just how much has changed.

We’re getting closer every week, and seeing the salon come together has been so exciting.

There’s still plenty to do, but the vision is finally becoming reality.
