My beautiful client has lived with alopecia since she was just 5 years old, and for the past year I’ve had the privilege of looking after her hair.

Alopecia is part of her story, but it has never defined her.

Over the past year, we’ve continued to customise her Mesh Integration to give her the coverage, volume and density she loves, creating a result that feels completely like her.

There is something so special about being trusted with someone’s hair, especially when hair loss has been such a big part of their journey.

Her confidence shines, and so does she. 🤍

Mesh Integration can be suitable for women experiencing alopecia, trichotillomania and various forms of hair loss and thinning.

My beautiful client has lived with Trichotillomania for many years, which has resulted in areas of significant hair loss and thinning.

Trichotillomania is a condition that causes recurrent urges to pull out your own hair. For many people, these urges can be incredibly difficult to control and can lead to noticeable hair loss, particularly through the scalp.

And it’s far more common than many people realise.

For this client, we created a customised mesh integration system designed to work with the hair she has, providing coverage through the areas affected by hair loss while creating beautiful length, volume and density.

Mesh integration can be an option for clients experiencing different forms of hair loss, including Trichotillomania, Alopecia and female pattern hair loss.

There should never be any shame surrounding hair loss. 🤍

Every time I share one of these transformations, I hope another woman sees it and realises she isn’t alone and that there may be options available to help her feel confident in her hair again.

For years, my beautiful client has lived with hair loss, relying on wigs and toppers to give her the coverage she needed.

Today, we gave her something different. 🤍

Mesh integration is a non-surgical hair replacement method designed for women experiencing hair loss or thinning. A lightweight mesh foundation is carefully fitted around the existing hair, allowing us to securely integrate additional hair and a custom topper to create coverage, density and length.

Unlike a traditional wig or removable topper, the system stays fitted and becomes part of your everyday hair meaning you can wake up with your hair already there, style it, wash it and live your life without having to remove it each day.

For someone who has spent years covering their hair loss, that feeling can mean so much more than simply having longer or thicker hair.

It’s about being able to look in the mirror and see hair again, instead of hair loss. 🥹🤍

This is why mesh integration will always have such a special place in my heart.

Hair loss doesn’t have to take away your confidence. There are options. 🤍

This is something I see all the time in the hair industry, and I think it’s worth talking about. 🤍

As a hair extension specialist, you hear a lot of conversations.

Clients come into the salon and talk about previous stylists, experiences they’ve had and things they weren’t happy with. Sometimes they’ll also repeat things another hairdresser has said about someone else’s work.

And it goes both ways ,stylists can be just as quick to criticise another stylist’s work without knowing the full story behind it.

The thing is, there are always two sides.

When someone new sits in your chair, you weren’t there for their previous consultation. You don’t know what was discussed or agreed on, what advice was given, what aftercare was followed, how the hair was maintained or what happened between appointments.

Especially in hair extensions, there are so many different methods and techniques. Just because another stylist does something differently to you doesn’t automatically mean they’re doing it wrong.

As stylists, we can listen to a client, make them feel heard and give our professional opinion without tearing down the person who worked on their hair before us.

And as clients, it’s completely okay to change stylists, be unhappy with an experience or seek another opinion. But there’s a difference between honestly explaining your experience and disrespecting the person behind the chair.

The hair industry is a VERY small world. Hairdressers know each other, train together, ask each other for advice and refer clients to one another ,sometimes without clients even realising those connections exist.

You never need to tear someone else down to support another person.

Clients deserve respect. Stylists deserve respect.

Professionalism should always go both ways.

For some people, wearing their hair down is something they don’t even have to think about.

For my beautiful client, it was something she had avoided for a long time.

She suffers from Trichotillomania — a condition that causes recurrent, often difficult-to-control urges to pull out your own hair. It can lead to noticeable hair loss and can have a huge emotional impact on confidence and the way someone feels about their hair.

For years, she wore her hair up to help hide the areas of hair loss. Hair became something she felt she needed to cover rather than something she could enjoy.

Today, we changed that. 🤍

Using mesh integration, we were able to create coverage through the areas of hair loss while giving her the length, density and freedom to finally wear her hair down.

And that’s the part of my job that means the most to me.

It isn’t just about creating beautiful hair.
It’s about giving someone back choices they may not have felt they had for a long time.
