TIRED… BUT YOUR BODY WON'T SWITCH OFF?

You finally get into bed.

And suddenly your brain has a meeting scheduled for 2:47am.

Tomorrow's list.

Yesterday's conversation.

The thing you forgot.

The thing you're worried about.

And meanwhile your shoulders are still tense and your jaw is still clenched.

Sometimes saying "relax" isn't particularly useful advice.

Your body may need an experience of settling before settling becomes possible.

That might involve breathing.

Gentle movement.

Body awareness.

Appropriate touch.

A quieter environment.

Or simply being given permission to stop doing.

My Neuro-Balance sessions bring these elements together in a way that is responsive to the person in front of me.

Not a formula.

Not a performance.

Just an opportunity to slow down and listen.

**Your body has been working hard.

It deserves some kindness too.**

MIDlife IS A LOT.

Your body is changing.

Your responsibilities may be changing.

Your relationships may be changing.

Your children may need you differently.

Your parents may need you more.

Work may be demanding more or different from you.

And somewhere in amongst all of that, you're expected to keep functioning as though nothing has changed.

Sometimes the answer isn't another thing to add to your list.

Sometimes it's creating a little space.

Space to breathe.

Space to feel.

Space to move.

Space to be supported.

For some, this may include navigating perimenopause or menopause.

For others, it may be stress, pain, poor sleep, caring responsibilities, emotional load or simply years of accumulated tension.

Usually, it's not just one thing.

You are not just one thing either.

That's why my approach to Neuro-Balance looks at the whole person.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE FALLING APART TO DESERVE CARE.

You don't have to wait until your back goes out.

Until your sleep is non-existent.

Until you're completely exhausted.

Until you're overwhelmed.

Until someone else tells you that you "need to do something about your stress."

You can simply notice:

"I'm not feeling like myself."

"I'm carrying more tension than I used to."

"I don't seem to switch off anymore."

"I want to feel more comfortable in my body."

That's enough.

Care doesn't have to be something you earn by reaching breaking point.

My work is about creating a space where you can slow down, notice what is happening in your body and receive thoughtful, respectful care.

Bodywork.

Breath.

Somatic awareness.

Applied neurology.

Together, these form Neuro-Balance.

A different way of thinking about wellbeing.

**Not fixing you.

Supporting you.**

YOUR BODY ISN'T THE ENEMY.

That tight neck.

Those shoulders that always seem to creep towards your ears.

The ache in your lower back.

The feeling that you're constantly bracing.

The sense that your body has forgotten how to relax.

It's easy to become frustrated with your body.

But what if we became curious about it instead?

Your nervous system is constantly receiving information, interpreting what's happening and adjusting your responses.

Your experiences, your environment, your movement, your breathing, your stress and your expectations can all become part of that conversation.

So rather than simply trying to "get rid of the tension", Neuro-Balance asks:

What is your body experiencing?

What might it need?

And how can we create the conditions for something different?

My bodywork is slow enough to listen.

Deep enough to be meaningful.

And always grounded in consent, respect and care.

It is professional bodywork for people who want to feel more connected, comfortable and at home in their bodies.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO HOLD EVERYTHING TOGETHER? (A post including some lessons I've learned from my wife!).

You hold it together at work.

You hold it together for your family.

You remember the appointments.

The shopping.

The birthdays.

The conversations that need to happen.

The things nobody else remembers.

You keep going.

And sometimes your body quietly starts doing the talking.

A clenched jaw.

Tight shoulders.

A sore back.

Shallow breathing.

Restless sleep.

A body that never quite seems to switch off.

This isn't about being "broken".

And it isn't about needing to push yourself harder.

Sometimes your body simply needs an opportunity to feel supported, listened to and cared for.

That's where MY approach to Neuro-Balance comes in.

Through deeply attuned bodywork, breathwork, somatic awareness and applied neurology, I work with you to explore the relationship between your nervous system, your body and the way you move through the world.

You spend a lot of time caring for other people.

Maybe it's time to experience what it feels like to be cared for.

Wow, that was a bigger video than I planned, but I got to most of what I wanted to say, I think.
