A client recently asked for some help removing the white build up at their dreadlock roots! The photo on the right was taken after a quick retighten of the locks after I removed the build up✨

Dark-haired dreads are notorious for visibility of these light coloured spots at the roots when build-up becomes a problem - it is usually caused by one or a combination of: excess shampoo, dry scalp, clothing/pillow case lint or a dusty work environment (it happens to the best of us 🥲)

This build up was removed manually and with a small amount of soap & water sprayed onto the locks - not through a wash or soak treatment. It can be even more effective when done just before a soak treatment and a maintenance session afterwards!
