Melissa came to me wanting to brighten her naturally darker lips. Dark lips usually carry cool blue/purple undertones, so before we can achieve a softer pinky result, we need to correct those tones first.

We used sunflower yellow through the darker areas to neutralise the blue, then layered a peachy tone over the full lip. Peach contains yellow, so once healed it works WITH the cool undertones instead of against them giving a brighter pink lip.

Neutralisation is a process and requires multiple sessions, but trust the colour theory babyyyy (I have an art background so colour theory is my jam 🍓)
