Heart is so full after being part of one of my closest friends wedding celebrations! 🥹🤍

A huge congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Hayes! 🥂💍

What a beautiful long weekend filled with so much love, laughter, celebrations and LOTS of dancing! 💃🏼

I was lucky enough to bring Mum and Huxley along for the trip, so in between all the wedding festivities, we got to enjoy some quality time together exploring Sawtell and making some beautiful memories of our own. 🐾☀️

Feeling very grateful for the beautiful people in my life and weekends like these that fill my cup! 🤍

Now back to reality and back behind the chair on Tuesday! ✂️💕

What brings me joy? This. 🥹🤍

It’s moments like this that make me excited to go to work, that remind me how much I love what I do, and why after all these years I still feel so lucky to call this my job.

One of my closest friends travelled 3 hours and trusted me with her colour for the very first time… ONE WEEK before her wedding. 😅

Was I nervous? Absolutely 😂
A week out from the wedding, there was no room for “we can make adjustments” I wanted her to feel absolutely incredible.

And then Karen had tears… which gave me tears. 🥹

This is the part of hairdressing I love the most. Yes, I love doing hair, but even more than that, I love being a little part of the moments that make someone feel good about themselves. The smile when they see themselves, the confidence, the happy tears, that’s the win for me.

And getting to do that for someone I love, just before one of the biggest days of her life, was pretty bloody special. 🤍

Now I get to swap hairdresser duties for bridesmaid duties and watch these two get married!! 🥹

Huxley & I are having a little weekend away in Coffs to celebrate a very special wedding! 🥂💍

I’ll be out of the salon from Thursday 8th October and switching off for a few days to enjoy the celebrations.

Highlights 🤝 lowlights

For this colour we worked with a combination of highlights + lowlights, with a brighter face frame to bring that pop of blonde around the front.

The lowlights bring back depth and dimension, while the highlights give us those beautiful ribbons of brightness rather than everything blending into one solid blonde.

And that face frame? Just enough brightness exactly where you want to see it ✨

For me, creating a beautiful blonde isn’t about fitting in as many foils as possible. It’s about looking at what the hair actually needs and creating the right balance of light, depth and tone.

The result is soft, dimensional, healthy looking colour that has movement and contrast from every angle.

A little payment update 🤍

From 1st October, I’m making a small change to the way payments work in salon.

Going forward, my preferred payment methods will be bank transfer/PAY ID or cash where possible.

As a small, solo operated business, transaction and banking fees are one of those little expenses that might not seem like much at the time, but really add up over the course of a week, month and year. Choosing bank transfer, PAY ID or cash where possible is a small way you can help me keep those costs down 🤍

Card payments will absolutely still be available, and there’s no pressure if card is your preferred way to pay.

I have reduced the online booking deposit to 15% to also help reduce the costs as a small business.

I’ll also be switching off Afterpay processed directly through the salon, as the merchant fee is around 6%+ per transaction, which is unfortunately just too high for me to absorb.

If you’re an Afterpay Plus subscriber with the Tap to Pay/Afterpay Card, you should still be able to use this in salon as you would any other contactless card, but I would recommend double checking on your end.

Let’s talk shower filters 🚿

You invest in your colour. You buy the right shampoo and conditioner. You use your treatments…

Depending on your water supply and plumbing, the water coming through your shower can contain minerals, metals, chlorine and other substances that can build up on the hair over time.

A shower filter isn’t going to magically repair damaged hair or replace good products and regular hair appointments 😜 but it can be another little step in creating a better environment for your hair and scalp at home.
