10 LIFE LESSONS AT NEARLY 50
Next month I turn 50 years old. As it will be a busy month for me, I thought I’d share 10 life lessons that I have learned on my almost 50 years on planet earth.
1. Life is short, so make the most of it. Go for a massage if you need it.
2. Prioritise self care. Get regular massages (of course), eat nutritious food, exercise, and engage in a mental activity that you enjoy (e.g., making art or playing a musical instrument).
3. Travel to learn about other cultures and places to expand your mind. Don’t forget to try a massage while overseas. There are different styles of massage (e.g., Thai, Hawaiian, and Balinese…). Hands for Health specialises in Swedish and Deep Tissue massage.
4. Stay young at heart. Be babied and nurtured with a massage.
5. Try your best at everything that you do and put in 100% effort…then visit your friendly massage therapist afterwards.
6. Your younger years are for working as much as possible as you will have the most energy during this period to secure your financial future later on in life so that you can relax more. Youth need massages too and as a client once said, “There is no need for botox when massages help to erase the stress lines on your face.”
7. When you feel good, you look good. Start from within and iron out those myofascial trigger points (knots) with a massage.
8. If you can help, then do so. Buy a massage voucher for a loved one. Hands for Health have massage vouchers available for purchase.
9. Let your heart be happy for others. There is no need to be hateful, jealous, or envious of others as this promotes self-centeredness and therefore misery. Comparison is the thief of joy. You are you and be happy with being you and working on yourself instead of focusing on others. Stay in your own lane, mind your own business, and compete with yourself instead of others. There will always be those that have more and also those that have less than you, so such negative emotions are useless. Whenever you have negative emotions that you need to work through that have manifested in the physical body, go and see your massage therapist to help relax your body.
10. Avoid gossiping and let the gossip stop with you. When you promote gossip, you may also be, inadvertently, spreading lies. As Eleanor Roosevelt once wisely said, “Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.” Those that gossip are seeking attention from others at the expense of someone else. See your friendly massage therapist instead of gossiping and enjoy being quiet and still for 60-120 minutes. Focus on yourself and make time for you.

MAA renewal for 2026-2027.
Hi Peeps, I participated in an aqua aerobics fundraiser today to help economically disadvantaged children and their families access swimming lessons at my gym. Not everyone has the same start in life and, unfortunately, the cycle of poverty is one that is challenging to break unless people can band together and assist their fellow humans. Kids and their families have just as much of a right as anyone else to enjoy simple pleasures, such as swimming in a pool, which can aid their health and wellbeing. The gym’s target is $3000+ and they have currently raised $2364. Please donate towards this worthy cause and click on the link below. May everyone have access to health and happiness in life. 🌈
