POOING IS SKINCARE TOO 💩✨
Yep, I said it.
Your skin doesn’t exist separately from the rest of your body and your bowel habits can give us clues about your digestion, fibre intake, hydration, stress and overall lifestyle.
No, constipation doesn’t automatically = acne. And no, you’re not “pooping out toxins.” 😭
More fibre 🥝
More water 💧
Daily movement 🚶♀️
Regular, balanced meals 🍳
Less obsessing over the next trending serum.
Welcome to holistic skin therapy 🤍

August, apparently 🤎
I spend so much time on here talking about skin, but Skin in Balance has always been about more than what we put on our faces.
How we live, eat, sleep, move, manage stress, connect with people and actually enjoy our lives matters too.
My birthday month 🤍
First sourdough ☺️
Beach walks
Friend catch ups 😌
🏋️
My favourite treatment 😍
Can’t go a week without eating something sweet 🤷🏻♀️
Home made 🥹
Another skin needling 🤌

Your sign to book in that appointment 🤍
Skin therapy isn’t about chasing perfect skin. It’s about understanding what your skin is actually asking for. 🤍
Your skin is constantly responding to hormones, stress, sleep, nutrition, inflammation, your environment and the products you use.
That’s why I don’t believe in throwing aggressive treatments at every concern.
Good skin therapy is knowing when to treat, when to strengthen, when to stimulate and when to leave the skin alone.
We work with the skin, not against it.
Because the goal isn’t just for your skin to look better after one appointment, it’s to progressively improve how it functions, heals and responds over time.
Healthy skin first. Results follow. ✨
Skin therapy > chasing trends.
Jokes. One of the best things I’ve ever done for my skin.
Microneedling has been a huge part of improving my texture, acne scarring, pigmentation and overall skin quality — but the key is doing it properly.
Not deeper. Not more aggressive. Not every few weeks just because you can.
✨ Correct depth
✨ Correct timing
✨ Professional device
✨ Proper skin preparation
✨ And giving the skin enough time to actually heal and remodel
The goal isn’t to traumatise the skin. It’s to create a controlled wound-healing response that encourages collagen and supports healthier-looking skin over time.
Sometimes your skin has to look a little questionable before it looks ✨expensive✨.

In a world where there’s always a new treatment, device, injectable, peel or skincare trend promising to “transform” your skin… sometimes the best thing you can do is go back to basics. 🤍
Healthy skin is built on the boring stuff:
A strong skin barrier.
Daily SPF.
A routine your skin can actually tolerate.
Good hydration.
Enough protein, fibre and healthy fats.
Sleep.
Stress management.
And most importantly: consistency!!!!
I love advanced skin treatments, but they should support healthy skin, not constantly overwhelm it.
You don’t need to chase every trend you see online.
Sometimes your skin doesn’t need more.
It needs you to stop changing everything every 2 weeks and give it the consistency it’s been asking for.
Basics first. Treatments second. Trends last. 🤍
I promised that I will give her the confidence back!

I call these my mental health prescriptions because they’re the things I know I need to come back to when I’m not feeling like myself. 🤍
Nothing groundbreaking. Nothing complicated. And no, I’m not suggesting these replace medication or professional support when they’re needed.
But I think we sometimes underestimate how much the simple things can affect how we feel.
Moving my body. Getting outside. Putting my phone away and actually being present with the people I love. Making time for myself. And probably the one I’ve had to learn the most — allowing myself to REST without feeling guilty.
I don’t do all of these perfectly every single day. But I notice a difference when I stop doing them, and I notice an even bigger difference when I start prioritising them again.
Sometimes looking after yourself really does start with going back to the basics. 🤍

I love skin, wellness and learning everything I can about the body… but I’m also a normal 27-year-old trying to run a business, study, have a social life and take my own advice about stress occasionally.
I don’t believe wellness needs to mean perfection, and I definitely don’t believe good skin comes from doing everything perfectly either.
I’ll always give you my opinion, tell you when I think something is unnecessary, and probably remind you that your skin is an organ not an accessory.
Anyway, if you’re still here… hi 🤍
