In the past few weeks, a topic has come up time and time again in my salon—people not feeling seen. It’s something that has really stayed with me, and I feel it’s important to speak on it.

Over my 19 years in the hair industry, I’ve worked in a few different salons, but my favourite place has, without a doubt, been my own. The past 11 years in business have come with plenty of challenges, but also so much joy—more than I ever expected.

I’ve had many of my clients for years, and honestly, I use the word “clients” very loosely. To me, you are so much more than that—you are like extended family. In my salon, you’re not just a number or a dollar sign. You are you. I see you for who you are, and I walk alongside you through life’s journey.

I hear you. I sit with you through the real conversations—the ones that matter. The “I’m getting divorced,” “I’m getting married,” “I have cancer,” “I’m pregnant,” “I’m going on the holiday of a lifetime,” “I bought a house,” “my kids are starting school,” and “my babies are graduating.” These moments are shared within my walls. They are celebrated, and they are also held with care when they’re heavy.

This is the heart and soul of my salon.

I take so much pride in being part of your journey. I’m not someone who forgets your name or your story. And my hope is that every time you leave my chair, you feel seen, heard, lighter—and confident, not just in how you look, but in who you are.
