A little payment update for our Koto community 🤍

From 1st October, changes to card surcharge rules mean businesses will no longer be able to pass EFTPOS processing fees on to clients.

While these fees may no longer appear at the checkout, unfortunately they don’t disappear. For a small business like ours, approximately 1.5% of every card transaction is taken in processing fees — which we estimate could add up to around $15,000 per year for Koto.

We completely understand that EFTPOS is convenient for many of our clients, so card payments are absolutely still welcome and available. We simply wanted to let you know that, where possible, cash or bank transfer are greatly appreciated. 🤍

We’ve set up a dedicated account specifically for client transfers to make this as quick and easy as possible while you’re in the salon. Our team will have all the details available at reception.

Every little saving helps us manage the rising costs of running a small business, continue investing back into Koto, and do our best to keep our pricing fair and accessible.
As always, thank you for your understanding, loyalty and continued support of Koto. We genuinely couldn’t do what we do without our beautiful community. ❤️
