When I started in the nail industry 11 years ago, my clients were 95% Acrylic with the occasional gel polish on natural nails. And out of those Acrylic clients, most of them had acrylic art (encapsulation, reverse French, acrylic marble, acrylic ombre, acrylic galaxy nails…)
I’d only use gel polish for the occasional plain set or a couple complimentary nails to the art.
As the industry and the products progressed and BIAB became a huge part of my client base, I realised I could no longer offer certain designs. French being a big one. I was literally saying NO to clients 🫠
I decided I couldn’t keep going that way, so I learnt. Took months, I was pretty rubbish for a while and it used to take me at least 30minutes to do. Now I can have a French painted in 10min and it’s the most requested “art” option.
Hand-painted French is now one of the fastest ways I can earn extra money for an appointment and it will never go out of style.
