I’m Pooky—the face behind Alura Haus

After experiencing my own barrier disruption, dehydration and congestion, I learnt how frustrating it can be when your skin feels uncomfortable, unpredictable or difficult to understand.

That experience shaped the way I work today.

Rather than placing skin into one simple category, I look at the whole picture—what you’re experiencing, your environment, lifestyle, current routine and what your skin may need at that time.

Through Alura Haus, I share clear, science-led education and practical guidance to help you understand your skin without complicated routines or unrealistic promises ✨

You’ll also find me at Revive Skin Clinic every second Saturday, offering personalised skin treatments, lash lifts and brow services.

Outside of skin, I’m a mum to a busy little girl and love travelling—which is where this photo was taken.

What would you most like to understand about your skin?

"You're doing it wrong." You've probably heard that a lot lately — about your skincare, your routine, your skin.

You won't hear it from me. 🤍

Here's what I believe: when it comes to skin there's no right or wrong — only understanding, and we're all somewhere in that process. Just like every other part of life, we learn as we go.

This little space is for the understanding part: skin science in plain, honest language — how your skin works, what supports it, and the everyday habits that quietly don't. Not rules. Not doubt . Just information you're free to save, share or leave.

There's already more than enough doubt out there, and I've no interest in adding to it. I'd much rather you finish a post feeling curious and cared for than feeling like you have to fix yourself.
