My son is 20yrs old and want to get married. I don’t understand? Where is that coming from? I ask him.
Never knew he was already dating.

I told him he was too young for such serious things. Marriage is more than the way you feel about a woman.

Feeling excited and infatuated is not enough reason to get married. It is all about financial and emotional stability and responsibility

He told me he has a job and was capable of meeting any financial conditions that comes with it.

I ask him what about the emotional maturity and stability to handle all the baggage that comes with it

Remember the person you are getting married to has a different upbringing from yours. Your perception about life and experience is different from hers

I made him to understand that in marriage, love is never enough. As time goes on, you will come across things you never thought of or experienced or even imagine and you will definitely want to explore.

Son, Why cant you give it time and do it at the right time. Take your time to know your spouse better. Marriage is not the same thing as courtship.

He insisted this is the right time. He said he has thought it through. He has made up his mind and he is fully convinced

How am I going to explain to this dude that marriage is beyond having money.

How do I explain to him, even when you don’t feel like staying, you will have to stay, because innocent soul are involved

How do l make him understand, little misunderstanding can actually result in serious emotional drain for them both

How do I make him understand it will take maturity and emotional stability to be able to maintain your mental health if it get so toxic.

And how do I make him understand that because children are involved , you have to consider them first before any serious decision can be taken

In this era where you are not allowed to interfere in your children marriage, how do I know for sure he is okay? She is okay.

How do I give them the support they need. How to make sure he is good husband and father without seeming to interfere

Someone that didn’t listen, when I told him he was too young to get married, and will he listen to good counselling

I can’t stop him. I wish he was more matured. Not only financially but emotionally before taking that decision.

Marriage without being ready can mar you. I can only hope for the best and wish him happy married life
