If I had to heal my acne all over again, this is where I would start…

I would focus LESS on feeling confused about what products I needed…

And MORE on noticing how I feel in my body throughout the day.

Am I rushing?

Am I feeling tense?

Do I actually feel calm while I’m eating my meals?

I would choose NOT to obsess over removing allllll the inflammatory foods and instead look at simple swaps, like changing from cow’s dairy to sheep’s dairy.

It’s really easy to get caught up thinking you need to do all the things.

Today you would have been 14.

Sometimes I find myself wondering who you would be today. What your laugh would sound like. What your favourite music would be. What dreams you’d be chasing.

Instead, I hold onto every precious memory from the two short years we had together.

You came into this world where cerebral palsy was your physical experience. Your little body faced challenges that no child should ever have to endure, but you never stopped teaching us what true strength looked like.

You couldn’t do the things many children take for granted, yet somehow you touched more hearts than most people do in a lifetime.

You taught me patience, resilience and how to slow down and celebrate the smallest victories.

Most of all, you taught me that love has nothing to do with ability and everything to do with presence.

Losing you shattered my heart, but loving you has shaped the woman I am today.

Because of you, I see life differently.
I appreciate the little moments.
I hug your brother and sister tighter.
I have more compassion for those carrying battles we can’t see.

Not a day goes by that I don’t miss you.

I miss your beautiful smile.
I miss holding your hand.
I miss imagining the future we never got to have.

People often say time heals, but I don’t believe grief ever disappears. It simply becomes something we learn to carry alongside an everlasting love.

Today I sat with you, just like I always do. I told you about our lives, imagined the incredible young man you would have become, and thank you for every lesson your little life gave me and still gives me.

Your life was never defined by your disability. It was defined by your courage, your strength, and the immeasurable love you brought into this world.
