BLACK to BLONDE

Going from black to blonde involves a multi-stage lightening process that typically starts with a color remover or bleach to lift the black pigment, which will pass through stages of red, orange, and yellow.
Since box dye is difficult to remove, achieving a true blonde requires multiple bleaching sessions.
Don’t get us wrong, we love a challenge! and would love to help you get the desired lighter colour but please be aware of the stages involved and what our professional recommendations are. 🥰
First sessions start from $550-$650

Ally’s second last day! God I am going to miss you 6.5years of friendship and laughs and staring at each other knowing exactly what the other is thinking… god damn woman don’t know how I’ll be without you! But I know we’ll always be connected 😉

A bittersweet goodbye to one of our brightest stars

After 6 incredible years, our beloved Ally will be heading off to start a new chapter in Canberra. Her last day at Barber Girl will be July 12th.

To say she’ll be missed is a massive understatement. Ally has been such an integral part of Barber Girl — not just as a skilled and creative stylist, but as a warm, hilarious, and fiercely authentic presence in the shop. She’s built genuine connections with her clients, many of whom have become close friends over the years, and has played a huge role in shaping our little alternative, inclusive community.

This isn’t a goodbye to the industry or to the heart she’s poured into her work — it’s just a shift in location (thanks, life!). But it is your last chance to sit in her chair, catch up, and have one last cut or colour before she goes.

If you’re one of her regulars, we know how much she means to you — and she’s keen to help transition you over to another stylist here who’ll take amazing care of your hair moving forward.

We love you, Ally. Thank you for everything you’ve brought to Barber Girl.
