The response of the children has been overwhelmingly positive.

It’s working because Sunday has a different energy.

Kids are calmer, parents and carers are calmer. There’s more hands on deck to help with the child or siblings.

The salon is exclusively open for you and there is no additional busyness or noise.

This is a keeper!

Firstly, my heartfelt gratitude to this client who offered independently for photos to be taken to show what can be achieved and de-stigmatize hair matting.

Hair is healthcare. It’s not simply beautification. 🤍

This is always about so much more than removing tangled hair.

This client came to me with significant matting — something that can happen for many reasons, and often has nothing to do with choice or neglect.

For some people, hair care can become incredibly difficult. Illness, disability, mental health, trauma, sensory sensitivities, life circumstances or simply not having the right support can mean that hair becomes unmanageable.

Dematting can be uncomfortable, time-consuming and emotionally overwhelming. It requires patience, compassion and a complete absence of judgement.

My role wasn’t to make someone “look better”.

It was to help restore comfort, dignity and a sense of self.

There is something deeply powerful about the moment someone can finally run their fingers through their hair again, feel their scalp, move freely, and leave feeling lighter — physically and emotionally.

This is why I believe so strongly that hairdressing is healthcare.

Our Handle With Care services offer compassion, patience and understanding for people whose needs go beyond a traditional salon appointment.

There’s something pretty special about sharing the skills you love with the next generation. ✂️✨

This term I am facilitating a Hairdressing Immersion Class at Y School North Lakes, junior campus. Giving students the opportunity to get hands-on, have some fun and experience a little of what life in the hair industry involves.

Curiosity, enthusiasm and willingness to give everything a go defines this young group.

We’re enjoying the winter sunshine streaming into the salon today ☀️

I’ll be at Y Schools Northlakes junior campus this term delivering a 5 week hairdressing immersion experience for years 7 - 9. I love what Y schools creates and delivers for their students. Truly special educators delivers engaged and interested students. So wonderful to be part of these young people’s journey. 🙏♥️

How awesome are !!?? Investing in care for their students that’s wholistic AND complimentary. Thrilled to be asked to co-create this pilot program of self care for students. I’ll be taking care of people across three campuses in the coming months and the impact that has for them is always more than ‘just a haircut’. Thanks team Griffith Uni for being awesome. 👏🏻

Community Cuts Cambodia, in partnership with A21 Cambodia, was such a special day. Together, we provided more than 100 haircuts and delivered all of your generous donations to this beautiful community.

A heartfelt thank you to the A21 team, the village pastor, and the local community for welcoming us so warmly. Your kindness and hospitality made the day truly memorable.
