"Have you seen my shoes?"
"What time are we leaving?"

Meanwhile the bride is just trying to drink a coffee and emotionally process that she's getting married in a few hours.

But after 22 years, there aren't many wedding day surprises left.

One thing we hear ALL the time from brides with naturally curly hair is:
“I still want to feel like me.”
And honestly… we completely get it.
So many Gen Z brides are moving away from overly structured glam and leaning more into softer, deconstructed bridal beauty that actually works WITH their natural features instead of fighting against them.
When Hazel booked us for her Bundaleer wedding, her biggest concern was her hair.
She wanted to keep her natural curls and earthy aesthetic but still feel elevated and bridal.
And Kay, with over 35 years of hair experience, was immediately like:
“Yep. We’re working with the curl.” 😂
Because the goal was never to turn Hazel into somebody else.
It was to create the most polished, radiant version of HER.
Hazel is genuinely one of those beautiful, grounded humans that instantly makes everyone feel calm. She works with animals and honestly has the softest energy ever, so keeping everything natural and effortless just made sense for her whole vibe.
And then Emma came in with her makeup brush magic and somehow created this glowy elevated goddess version of Hazel while still keeping everything soft, fresh and completely authentic to her.

Sometimes, we stop and realise…
This is actually our job 😂
The 3am early morning alarms.
The dress steaming emergencies.
The bridesmaid running late who missed the turnoff.
The emotional mums.
The group chats becoming real life.
The dancefloors.
The happy tears.
The weather dramas.
The veil rescues.
The calm moments right before the ceremony.
And somehow, after 22 years of weddings across Brisbane, Mt Tamborine, and the Sunshine Coast… we still absolutely love it 💖
We’ve met the most beautiful people through this job.
Not just beautiful brides, but genuinely kind humans who invite us into one of the biggest mornings of their lives and trust us to be part of it.
And honestly, that never feels normal to us.
So this is just a little reminder that behind all the hair pins, lashes, and timelines… we are genuinely so grateful to do what we do.

POV: professional bridal hairstylists are absolutely NOT risking your veil falling out halfway through the ceremony 😂
These photos are actually staged for the photographer because our hairstylist had already properly secured the veil before she left.
And honestly… this is one of those bridal details people don’t think about until it goes wrong.
A heavy veil can easily pull on the hairstyle, shift placement or loosen throughout the day if it isn’t properly secured from the start.
Which is exactly why we never leave it up to chance.
At every wedding, we:
✔ properly secure the veil into the hairstyle
✔ make sure it feels comfortable and balanced
✔ check it holds through movement and hugs
✔ AND do a full bridal party tutorial on how to safely remove it before the reception without ruining the hairstyle
Because nobody wants panic pin-pulling right before the dance floor opens 😂
