30/07/2026

I'm very much looking forward to escaping to the calm of Just Be tomorrow. It soothes my soul in the most beautiful way. It really is one of my happy places.

I have a couple of spots available in the morning if anyone needs to escape with me.

I have the BEST news!!! In 5 weeks we will be on our way to Perth to have the procedure that provides the best hope of taking away Mr K's pain. There are no guarantees and he might require further procedures but it is a ray of hope.

I cant tell you how it feels to talk to a Specialist that actually knows and understands a condition that over the last 12 months you have had to educate every medical professional we have come across...I carry research articles with me to every appointment because most have never heard of it 🤦‍♀️.

I then spoke to the Anaesthetist tonight and he was brilliant and was already fully prepped and planned for all our Malignant Hyperthermia concerns.

My gut says this is the right thing to do so we are taking the leap of faith.

My beautiful boy deserves to be able to able to just be a happy health kid who gets to bask in the sunshine.

Thank you all for your support and care for both my boy and myself. It means the world to me.

I will keep you all updated.

Just a reminder that I'll be joining Kobie at the 4pm session today at Elliott Heads if anyone wants to come along. Finally taking my own advice of filling up my own cup because it's starting to feel a little empty.

A rare day in the Studio tomorrow taking care of some of my favourite people as well as filling up my own cup doing the very thing I love so much.

I have one spot available at 10am for a discounted one hour massage for just $70.

Let me know if you want to start the weekend off with some selfcare.

Also I'm taking my own advice and joining Kobi Po***ck for a Sound Healing Session at 4pm Sunday at Elliott Heads Hall. You might not know this but Kobi had been sharing my space here at Just Be and I can't wait to take part in one of her sessions. If you would like to join us check out the details below.

Thanks for all the support on my post last night about my boy and our wonderful experience with the Queensland Ambulance Service.

After discussions with our Doctor today we have made the decision to move forward with consulting with the specialist in Perth. We will be submitting an application and supporting evidence for the Queensland Health Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme to contribute to the expenses since there is no help available in Queensland. I will keep you updated on how it all goes.

I am in the studio tomorrow and Saturday as Hubby is home to take over Mr K duties. Let me know if you would like to come and escape the chaos with me.

I need to give a huge thank you and shout out to the Queensland Ambulance paramedics! Today we have had to call 000 twice for my lil man and they have been so incredibly kind and caring, knowledgeable and helpful. 10/10 . Completely different to our Queensland Health experiences.

Mr K returned to school today for the first time in 6 months. School has been incredible and we have all put a lot of preparation into today and thank God we did because we had no idea that it would take just 30 minutes for the school to have to put that plan into action.

Getting to school was obviously too much today and he got faint and deteriorated quickly and they called both the Ambulance and me and they arrived so quickly. His pain was 10/10 and he looked so unwell. They administered Fetanyl before moving him and then another dose on route to the hospital. The girls were so great...in my panic I can't remember their names but one of them was rocking some awesome pride beads on her boots so if you know her please pass on our thanks.

4 hours in the hospital in an acute bed and we still hadn't seen a doctor and Mr K had slept off the Fentanyl and his pain was a 7 so we made the call to come home.

Fast forward to tonight and I hear a scream from his room and the pain is back. It's bad, the screaming, crying, begging for help sort of bad. I can't move him so for 2nd time today I call 000. In the 5 years we have been dealing with his pain I've never called the Ambulance and today I've had to do it twice.

The boys (Drew and 🤦‍♀️ I'm blanking but ones a West Coast Eagles fan but we didnt hold that against him and the other a Hawks fan...that one we can approve of) came and unfortunately we had no additional pain options available and knowing the hospital was still crazy busy we decided to give him all his night medication and hope he sleeps through the worse of it. They monitored him until he had improved a little. But whilst their hands were tied with how they could help they were so kind and understanding. They didn't make myself or Mr K feel crazy or a bother. Both crews today made a huge difference to us when we have spent so much of this journey being gaslit.

It is looking like we will have to get him to Perth to one of the 2 doctors in Australia that is qualified and knowledgeable in Paedatric ACNES. Both are located in Perth.

I won't get into all the ways Queensland Health has failed us but instead focus on the amazing first responders who deal with so much but still manage to bring so much comfort and care.

So sitting here watch my boy finally at peace in sleep I'm feeling grateful for those angels that arrive in Ambulances.

This is how I choose to spend my Birthday every 2nd year. My ADHD brain means I'm terrible to life admin but to make sure I don't forget my BreastScreen mammogram I do it on my birthday.

I actually planned my first mammogram for the day I turned 40 and became eligible. I highly recommend it so it doesn't become one of those check ups that just seems to slip by.

I lost both my parents at 65 to different types of cancer so I try and be proactive.

So take this as your sign to jump online a book a mammogram today. It's an appointment that literally takes 10 minutes every 2 years and it could save your life.

I've got another couple of days to escape to my happy place at Just Be! Not saying that being home with my boys doesn't make me happy but I do crave the calm of the studio as much as you all do.

If your wanting longer pamper packages I can definitely make space for you, just let me know.

Thank you for all your love and support on my lil breakdown post last night. I've received lots of great advice and started the process of gathering evidence and requesting a review of his case.

An early night for me and then I am so looking forward to a couple of days in the studio. It really is so important for my own sanity and I am so thankful that you continue to support me and allow me to keep my dream alive.

I have a couple of spots available tomorrow and Saturday so please share with anyone that may be in need of some self care.

Again thank you for the love, support and advice, it's made such a difference.
