A little personal post from me today 🤍

Many of you have watched my kids grow up over the years, so I wanted to share something I’m incredibly proud of.

Ginger is one of six Year 4 and 5 girls from Kalkie State School who recently travelled to Brisbane to compete at the Queensland State Championships for RoboCup Junior.

Nationals honestly wasn’t even on our radar. The girls went down for the experience — to compete, learn, have fun and see what they could do.

Well… they did a little better than we expected. 😂

They qualified for the 2026 RoboCup Junior National Competition in Canberra! 🤖✨

It’s an incredible achievement, particularly for six young girls from regional Queensland who are developing such a passion for robotics, coding, problem-solving and STEM.

The unexpected part of qualifying is that the cost of getting to Nationals falls to the families, and we’ve had a very short timeframe to somehow make it happen.

We are now down to just TWO WEEKS.

We’re working to raise approximately $12,000 for the six girls to assist with travel from Bundaberg to Canberra, accommodation, competition fees and robotics equipment.

We’ve already had some incredibly generous local businesses get behind the girls, and we are so grateful. But we still have a way to go.

So I’m putting the call out to our Bella Donna community. 🤍

If you own a business, work for a business that may be interested in sponsoring Team Kalkie, or know someone we should contact, please reach out. Sponsorship opportunities range from $250–$2,000, although support of any amount is incredibly appreciated.

And if sponsorship isn’t possible, please share this post. With only two weeks left, getting their story in front of the right person could make all the difference.

I might be slightly biased because one of them is mine 😂, but I am so proud of these six girls and what they have already achieved.

Now we just need to help get them to Canberra. 🤍🤖
