August marks 10 years since I won Ella Baché State Therapist of the Year Award (WA & NT) at the Sydney Ella Awards. ✨

Looking back at this moment brings up so much gratitude—and if I’m being completely honest, a tiny pinch of imposter syndrome too! Holding that award in Sydney felt surreal, and a part of me wondered how little old me from small-town Kalgoorlie could ever make such an achievement.

At the time, I was employed at a beautiful, newly built, 11-room Ella Baché salon—a true diamond in the rough 💎 against the backdrop of a remote, red-dirt mining town.

It was there that my values, professionalism, and passion for skin health were truly instilled. It’s also where I met so many regular clients who I treated month after month for years, and who I still think about today. The stories we shared in the treatment room, the excitement of new babies, the joyful wins, and the hard losses—those connections meant everything.

A decade on, my space might look a little different, but the heart behind what I do hasn’t shifted an inch. Building genuine relationships and caring for you and your skin is still my absolute favourite part of this work.

Did you know that the order you apply your skincare determines whether those active ingredients actually get to do their job? Your skin is made of multiple layers, and to get the most out of your routine, your products need to be layered correctly too.

​When it comes to layering, the golden rule is simple:
• ​Thinnest to thickest
• ​Lightest to richest
• ​Water-based to oil-based

Here's how this may look for you in a daily routine;

☀️Step 1: Cleanser
Start with a gentle cleanse to wash away dirt, makeup, SPF, etc without stripping your skin dry.

☀️Step 2: Hydrating Mist
