IPL and Electrolysis are 2 totally different methods of hair removal…Which one is right for you?

IPL is permanent hair reduction + Electrolysis is permanent hair removal

IPL is best for those who have fair skin and dark hair, since IPL is designed to target the pigment of the hair. Those with darker skin should consider Electrolysis.

IPL hair removal on gray, blonde or red hair is NOT effective at all, but Electrolysis treats ANY hair colour

IPL is great at treating large areas of unwanted hair quickly…Electrolysis is much slower and is fabulous at treating smaller areas of unwanted hair.

Electrolysis is excellent at permanently removing hormonal facial hairs, where as IPL can stimulate hormonal facial hair growth.

Electrolysis uses a sterilised probe inserted into each individual hair follicle and a current is then applied to kill the hair follicle. IPL uses a specific wavelength/spectrum to target a large amount of hair at a time with multiple flashes of light.

Hair in all stages of growth can be successfully treated with Electrolysis…IPL can only treat hairs in a certain growth phase (anagen)

IPL usually requires a certain amount of treatments to achieve permanent hair reduction over the space of 10 months to 2 years. To achieve permanent hair removal Electrolysis is based on time, your treatments are more frequent and longer at the start of the process and shorten in frequency and time over the course of 9 months - 2 years.

As far a pain or discomfort go for either IPL or Electrolysis…it is subjective! It all depends on the person and what their tolerance is, skin health, time in their cycle, stress levels, caffeine consumption etc.

You should NOT tweeze or wax between IPL or Electrolysis appointments!Hair you cannot see cannot be treated with Electrolysis…Hair that is not connected at the root cannot be treated with IPL.
