I DID THE BIG SCARY THING!!!

Last night was opening night to the art exhibition Surface Tension at in Cairns! I got to see so many beautiful humans, hug some friends for the first time in far too long, go to a Pride event with my parents for the first time ever, and see my very own art hung in a gallery 😭

This is what I've been up to while healing from treatment before getting back to work 😁 I can't NOT play with pretty colours, come on!

My painting Becoming is for sale, and all profits go to our Motley Manes Community Top Surgery Fund 😁

During the school holidays, my little dude and I went camping with a dear friend. Upon arrival we kicked off our shoes, laid our hands on our hearts and greeted the space and spirits, introducing ourselves and swearing to leave the place better than how we found it. Respect for Country always. I was able to read for hours, get a little toasty in the sun, made an all day stew in my new Cauldron (Bertha), even go stuck in the sand and had to pull every idea out of the book before being rescued by a stranger (the country ways are still strong, thanks to our new hero Edward). We explored, laughed, cried, saw life and death, and fell asleep watching the stars, only to wake watching the birds. It was a much needed time of "awayness" that has me feeling passionate all over again.

Once an artist, always an artist. The medium matters not. Here's a little something we made while playing about with light art.... always still thinking of you. A little love letter to our community 💕

Biggest HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our Jessie girl!!!

We love, adore and appreciate the heck out of you babe! You are still one of the toughest people I know, and manage to do it all with a smile and a brilliant attitude. Even on a cruddy day, you'll vent for five then get back to making us all laugh and raise the energy in the whole room. Thank you for the support of my dream from day one, the mum hugs when things get hard, and holding my shaking hands and smooching my cheeks during some of the hardest times of my life. You're an Earth Angel, and I'll hear no arguments on the matter.

I'm so so proud of your growth over the years, and for stepping outside your comfort zone and saying YES to big opportunities this year. You make my heart swell Yesica 🥰
