Behind every appointment is a woman who’s spent the whole week giving everything she has to everyone else.

Her kids.
Her partner.
Her clients.

That’s the part I love most about this job.

I get to be a small part of that hour.

The hour where she doesn’t have to make decisions, solve problems, answer questions, or think about what’s for dinner.

I’ve never believed it’s really about the brows.

To every client who shows up, communicates with me, and respects my time… thank you. Genuinely. You make this worth it.

I’ve always tried to keep booking with Scout Avenue easy. No deposits. No payment upfront. Just trust.

And for the most part, that trust has been everything.
Here’s the reality of being a small business owner that people don’t always see..

When you no-show or cancel last minute, that slot almost never gets filled, but I still show up, prep done, ready to go.
I still pay:
🤍 Rent
🤍 Insurance
🤍 Utilities
🤍 My booking system
🤍 Merchant fees
🤍 Education & training
🤍 Software subscriptions
🤍 Fuel to get to work
🤍 Money lost from the no show and the client I turned away because that appointment was reserved

So as a reminder, my policy is:
⚡️ Less than 24 hours notice = 50% fee
⚡️ No-show = 100% of the service cost

Of course, life happens. If you’ve been with me for a while, you’ll know I always try to be understanding when real life gets in the way. Emergencies happen, things come up, school, kids, work, and I get that. I’m always just a text message away!

Mother’s Day can hold so many different emotions all at once 🤍

So today I’m thinking of every kind of mum.
The mums cuddling their babies.
The mums running on no sleep.
The mums with rainbow babies they prayed so hard for.
The mums carrying heartbreak quietly for the babies they never got to keep.
The women still waiting, hoping and dreaming of becoming a mum one day.
The mums doing it all on their own.
The step mums, foster mums, fur mums and the women who naturally mother everyone around them with so much love.

Some people will wake up today feeling full.
Some will wake up with an ache in their chest.

But I just hope every woman who loves deeply knows that love never goes unnoticed. Women are such incredible creatures, we are capable of so much. Growth, strength, kindness, love, nurturing & peace.

The biggest moment of my life is almost here 🤍

I’ll be stepping away from the salon from May 15th for two weeks to get married (still feels surreal saying that).

This little business means everything to me, but you are the reason it exists. The loyalty, the conversations, the trust you give me every appointment… I don’t take any of it lightly.
