Have you been to a salon/ hairdresser and it hasn’t quite worked out? 🤷‍♀️ Maybe even attempted it yourself 🤦🏼‍♀️

Now you’re left felling embarrassed, self conscious or even wearing a hat? 😭👒

That’s exactly how my client felt after having her hair done elsewhere 😓 This was another hairdressers work and unfortunately a standard they thought was suitable for a paying client. Things like this bring the standard of quality for the industry down also sadly and overall it’s just not a good look 😩

THE TRUSTH IS: HAIRDRESSING IS HARD - mentally, physically and emotionally. COLOUR IS HARD and colour corrections are even harder. They take a lot of time, effort, patience and attention to detail… There’s no cheat sheets or quick fixes. YOUR HEART TRULY HAS TO BE IN IT 🩷

NOT ALL HAIRDRESSERS ARE THE SAME 🙅🏼‍♀️

When choosing a it’s important to find the right one ☝🏻 One that stays up to date with modern techniques and trends, one that continues to invest in themselves and their education, one that is confident and competent, that also means they are confident in managing your expectations and letting you know they aren’t able to achieve the style you’re after and maybe recommending you to someone else who might better fit what you are after. YES, that might mean admitting they are out of their depths, but a good hairdresser understands their strengths and their incompetence. Everyone has their own style they have adapted over their years behind the chair and that’s ok - you just have to learn to consult thoroughly and communicate with your guests 🫶🏻

Ultimately a good hairdresser is SOMEONE WHO CARES 🥰 because let’s be honest, if they care, they care about their craftsmanship, they care about their clients and their CARE ABOUT THEIR WORK 😇 meaning their best work is being produced and they can go to sleep at night with a clear conscious knowing they have truly done their best 🥹

EDUCATION IS KEY 🔑 Education your clients and educate yourself 🫡

I’m Kyrah (pronounced Kirra)!

I’m the behind the hair and beauty chair 💅🏻

I’ve been in the industry for fourteen years 💇🏼‍♀️

I’m a hairdresser, beauty technician and cosmetic tattoo artist 💁🏼‍♀️

I was 19 when I opened my first salon. When I was 21 I bought my second salon and ran the two together with a team of up to 16 staff members 👯‍♀️

I met my partner, moved towns and downsized…

I now bring to you a full service salon within my home 🏡 Nothings changed really, it still feels like you’re in a salon - because you are, you still get the same amazing experience and I’m still the same amazing ✨

I’m lucky enough to have had the help from the men in my life, my dad, brothers and partner each time I’ve started from scratch or come up with a design idea ✨

I’m just a girl 🌸 full of design ideas and a final vision 🥹

The men make it all come to life 🌈

Because let’s face it, I’m hopeless with that sort of thing ☹️

I’ll be the lunch lady and the clean up crew 👷🏼‍♀️

And I can paint or pass things 🎨 but thats about it, you don’t want me near the important things 🙅🏼‍♀️

So yeah… everything you see in the salon as it is, is all thanks to my handy partner! 😘
