Update post:

As many of you know, I’m pregnant and have been off work sick. Over the past 7 months, I’ve been living with a severe pregnancy condition called Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG).

Unfortunately, it’s not just “morning sickness” that passes as the day goes on and is helped with crackers, ginger and regular 2hr snacking. It’s a debilitating medical condition that has left me unable to work, leave the house, or function day-to-day.

For me, it has involved weight loss, constant vomiting daily, dehydration, inability to eat/drink normally, electrolyte and vitamin imbalances, IV fluids, hospital admissions and a cocktail of drugs that don’t touch the surface.

As you can imagine, this has affected not only my personal life, but my career. I haven’t seen so many of you guys for 7 months and haven’t been able to work a job that I love for 7 months. However, through this time, I’ve kept the reason I started skin base - to help improve mental health through self care and love - at the front of my mind and am doing my best to take care of myself for my own mental health.

I don’t have long to go now and can see the light at the end of the tunnel approaching. I will still be taking the rest of my pregnancy off and will be taking maternity leave to look after my baby, but I PROMISE I will be back and will let you know as soon as that happens.
I will only be working from Camden when I return and can’t wait to see you all again for treatments and to just catch up. A lot of you are more than just patients/clients to me. I value you personally and can’t thank you enough for reaching out to see how I’ve been going over the months.
