Feeling your best as you age isn't just about strength and movement; your digestive health matters too. 💚
As we get older, constipation and digestive issues can become more common, particularly when movement, fibre intake or fluid intake decreases.
Try adding more:
🌾 wholegrain breads and cereals
🍎 fruit and vegetables
🫘 beans & lentils
🥜 nuts & seeds.
And don't forget your fluids! Water, milk, herbal tea and soups can all contribute to your daily intake.💧

Strong bones are an important part of staying active and independent as we age. 🦴
Two nutrients that play an important role in bone health are calcium and vitamin D.
🥛 Calcium can be found in milk, yoghurt, cheese, fortified plant milks and canned fish with bones.
☀️ Vitamin D can come from safe sunlight exposure, oily fish, eggs and fortified foods.
Your nutritional needs are individual, particularly as we age, so if you're unsure whether you're getting enough, our Dietitian can help identify where there may be gaps.

As we age, maintaining muscle becomes increasingly important for strength, mobility and independence. 💪
That’s why protein is one of the key nutrients to prioritise as we get older.
A simple goal is to include a source of protein at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
And remember, healthy ageing isn't about eating less. It's about giving your body the nourishment it needs to stay strong for longer. 💚
Read our blog to learn simple ways to add more protein to your day-to-day life.

Did you know that September is Pain Awareness Month?
This annual global campaign aims to spark important conversations about pain between healthcare professionals, policymakers, individuals living with pain, and the broader community. Chronic pain isn’t obvious from the outside. Many people live with persistent aches and discomfort from conditions like back pain, arthritis, heel spurs, or migraines. This month reminds us to meet that unseen struggle with empathy and understanding.
Effective pain management goes beyond medication. It involves tailored treatment plans that bring together different specialties and multiple therapeutic methods to address each person’s unique needs.
Let’s use this month to shine a light on chronic pain and help create a world where everyone can access compassionate, effective support.
Our team were excited to be involved in the recent Anytime Fitness Campbelltown Anytime Fitness Newton ‘Day Zero’ Sale, with our Physios Kam and Michael offering Members grip strength analysis and chair massages, and our Dietitian Caitlin offering sports nutrition advice.
