So many of you have been asking about my little AJ and still keeping him in your thoughts and I want you to know he’s doing really well. He’s thriving in ways I honestly never expected. It honestly feels like meeting a whole new version of him, his energy, his personality, the way he shows up in the world now. It’s beautiful but it’s also a lot to take in.

But we are still very much in this and this road is long. At the start I thought I would share everything about his health journey and I completely understand why people do that, but if I’m being real most days I am just trying to keep up. Social media is the last thing on my mind. I am exhausted. It has been a really long 10 months since his first operation.

I am so grateful for his medical team, his paed, his doctor who sees him weekly, his surgeons and specialists. They are holding us together right now. The truth is there is still so much we don’t know and we are still learning and trying to understand. Right now the focus is getting him healthy, off the tube, gaining weight and getting his body functioning as normally as possible.

Trying to live normal life while knowing your world is not normal is something I would not wish on anyone. Every morning starts with medical care, tubes, meds and making sure he is not in pain. Watching him miss out on things most 4 year olds get to do is hard. But he is the strongest little human I know and I know he will bloom in his own time.

Being a mum means showing up even when you are shattered, choosing hope even when you are scared and loving your child so fiercely it changes you.

For those who recognise this familiar face - this is Z (Zahara), a well-known NRLW player representing the Canberra Raiders. Z first came to me almost two years ago feeling very low in confidence due to acne, pigmentation, and uneven skin texture.

When I first met Z, public speaking, photos, and attending events felt overwhelming because of how Z felt about their skin. Watching Z grow from having little confidence to becoming the strong, confident person Z is today has been truly incredible.

There is still a tiny bit of scarring to work through, but for the first time in a long time Z walks out with head held high - confident, glowing, and able to speak face-to-face with ease.

I feel so grateful to be part of Z’s skin journey. When Z first came to me, Z shared that many therapists and treatments had been tried and that I was the last hope. Knowing I could help Z achieve the best skin yet and continue growing in confidence is something I will always be proud of 🤍

As we come to the end of the year, I’ve been taking a moment to reflect on everything this year has brought - the highs, the challenges, the lessons, and the incredible amount of love that has flowed through Skin by Ebony.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you 🙏🏽 SBE would not be what it is without you - your trust, loyalty, patience, and support mean more to me than I could ever put into words.

This year has been emotional. Losing my uncle while I was in Canberra, and more recently navigating AJ’s health scare, reminded me just how powerful kindness and community are. Your messages, prayers, patience, and support carried me through more than you know - thank you for holding my family in your thoughts 🤍
