Both retinol and retinal are forms of vitamin A that help improve skin texture, support collagen production and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

The difference is how your skin uses them. Before vitamin A can do its job, it needs to be converted into a form your skin can use. Retinal is one step closer than retinol, so your skin doesn't have to work as hard to convert it, meaning it can deliver results more efficiently.

Because retinal is more potent, some people may notice results sooner. However, it can also cause dryness or irritation when first introduced, so it's important to choose the right strength and introduce it gradually.
