102 Years Young and Still Refusing to Go Grey 😄

Today I had the privilege again of cutting the hair of one of the most inspiring women I’ve ever met — beautiful Jane, turning 102 this July. ❤️

Born in Italy, a mother of 4, grandmother of 10, dressmaker, gardener, cook, and still living independently on her own.

As I was cutting her hair, I asked her:“What’s your secret to living this long?”

The very first thing she said was:“Stay happy and don’t stress too much.”

She spoke with such peace and positivity about life. Even living alone, she has fully accepted it and continues to enjoy life with gratitude, purpose, and a positive attitude. No bitterness, no complaining — just happiness and appreciation.

Her family still visits her often, and she still loves cooking for them. 💕

She also shared that she has always tried to live a healthy lifestyle. She personally doesn’t drink alcohol or smoke, eats healthy, and believes in keeping herself busy.

And she truly does.She still gardens, still sews clothes for her children and grandchildren, still cooks, and keeps both her mind and body active every day.

What amazed me most was her independence and spirit. Even after having one kidney removed and recently undergoing a leg operation, she continues to live life with strength, dignity, and purpose.

I even asked her about her parents. Her father passed away at 63 and her mother around 74 or 75 — which reminded me that sometimes longevity is not just about genetics or DNA, but also about mindset, lifestyle, purpose, and attitude towards life.

And one thing she made very clear…She still doesn’t want to embrace the grey! 😄

She still does her own colour shampoo at home and said:“Oh my God, I’m so grey… I need to colour my hair!”

When I told her I wanted to gift her haircut as an early birthday present, she insisted on paying because she said:“No, no… I have money.”

That touched my heart deeply. ❤️

To me, Jane is proof that ageing beautifully is about staying active, staying connected to family, caring for yourself, keeping your mind busy, and choosing happiness every day.

102 years old and still full of life, pride, humour, independence, and grace.

Truly inspirational.
