Happy 10 year anniversary to gorgeous couple Katie & Ed!!

Two years ago they decided to celebrate their anniversary with friends and family with a ceremony at the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens, followed by a reception/party at Boomtown.

The brief was natural looking makeup but with darker eyes, and adding some body to the hair but keep it looking natural and kind of messy.

I could've totally seen her with a more natural eye look, I think she looks super gorgeous without any makeup, but I appreciate she knew what she liked and I love how with this dark eye makeup the eyes just look like she can look straight through you 👀 ✨

One of the one thousand one million photos I have received and have never shared. I used to be quite good at following up on receiving photos (but have gotten increasingly worse at it - so if you have photos that you've never shared with me, please do!! I LOVE seeing them).

This is Sarah again, from the previous post. This is a before & after from her makeup trial (someone else did her hair because that worked better timing wise).

Have you ever seen skin this perfect?! I could've happily gone with even less coverage 💖 but I also love this look Sarah chose for her wedding day; classic and natural, softly highlighting her beautiful features.

I met at her best friend Izabel's wedding in 2022, she was one of the bridesmaids. It's always such a great compliment when people contact me who I've worked with before, and Sarah and her crew were a dream to work with (just as Izabel and her's 2,5 years prior!).

Gorgeous Dina - April '23 💕 hair & makeup for her and her mum by me 🥰

I am absolutely in love with Dina's side bun. So unique and special and we really created it together, which is my favourite way of creating ✨

At her trial we did a low ponytail, but afterwards she decided she actually wanted to go for a side bun with a big Dutch braid going into the bun. She chose to do another trial for her hair and I think this style was spot on. I absolutely loved it with the accessory and also the thin braids. At the ceremony she wore a veil, so for anyone wondering whether you can wear a veil with a side bun - judge for yourself!

I came acrosse these pics because I’ve been trying to tidy up photos and found these sitting in my download folder, from 3 years ago!!

The folder I found contained over 900 photos 😵 The lovely Dina send me all their wedding pics, and I though I must’ve downloaded them but not deleted any (I definitely looked at them all!). When I go through couples' complete wedding album, I often end up with over 100 photos that I love, which arguably is too many still, but 900 is crazy haha. I put it on my to do list to action, and on the same day found another folder, also with their photos, but this time ‘only’ 600 photos. That was a win, because clearly I had done some sorting and so that was going to save me time now.
Today I sorted them again and was able to bring them back to 300 photos in the first round, and then just under 200 photos in a second round. Not bad, but still way too many! I’ll need fresh eyes to go through them again. But decided a better reward for all the work I have done (yes, looking through people's wedding photos is work!) would be to create a post on here.

She wanted a natural makeup look with dewy looking skin. Look how absolutely gorgeous she looked!

After the trial she was still contemplating on whether she wanted foundation, or rather having me correct/conceal here and there. She did decide to go for the foundation in the end, but I'm here to let you know that you don't have to wear foundation on your wedding day!! There's very little that you háve to do. So stay close to what you want. This day is for you and your partner to celebrate your love, the way yòu want to. If you want to look super glam, go for it ✨ but if you want to look like yourself and not wear a lot of makeup (or any), you can absolutely do that too. Don't let anyone tell you you can't, or that you have to wear 'more' makeup because it'll look better in photos. It doesn't look better, it just looks different!! So find an artist who can go through these differences with you, so you can feel super happy with the way you look on this day 💖

A small, informal wedding was what they wanted.

They decorated their garden (great-looking garden thanks to Tim who's a landscaper) with handmade tinsel from fabric scraps (see pic #3), they did the officials with Celebrations With Steph the day before, and the ceremony on the day was led by Ruby's sister on an empty bush block across the road from their house, they had cake from Maine Foodstore where Ruby was working, flowers by Handpicked Floristry and they went to Boomtown Winemakers Cooperative for their reception. The day was documented by the wonderful Jen Tighe Photo.

All of these vendors are so well chosen for what they wanted for their day 💖
