EXFOLIATION DIFFERENCES 😶‍🌫️

✨You may hear us chat about these differences in clinic but here is a cheat sheet!

💪 PHYSICAL: Involves the use of abrasive substances or tools (like scrubs, brushes, or pads) to physically slough off dead skin cells.

🧪CHEMICAL: Uses chemical agents (like alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) to dissolve dead skin cells and promote cell turnover.

✨ Physical exfoliation is suitable for normal to oily skin but may be too harsh for sensitive or acne-prone skin - whereas chemical exfoliation is generally suitable for all skin types.

What can you expect immediately after your tixel treatment?

✨ It is expected after any rejuvenation treatment that our skin will have erythema, from skin needling or Tixel alike.
✨ This is a fancy term for "redness" which lets us know that our clinical endpoint has been reached.
✨ Every client's skin will vary with how much redness they will develop, some others may only have slight pinkness. This redness starts to dissipate a few hours post treatment, with only slight pinkness occurring 24 hours after.
