TIPS TO GET GREAT VOLUME THIS WINTER FOR ANYONE WITH FLAT OR FINER HAIR !! 💇🏼💇🏽💆🏻

1. In the shower:
Use a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. These contain lightweight polymers – agents that cling to hair and plump strands.

2. Before you dry:
Spritz on a volumizing styler. Spray it onto damp roots (where fullness starts) and then distribute evenly by combing through to your ends, start combing from the bottom and work your way up the hair shaft to remove knots quicker.
Don't put any heavy serums or creams directly onto roots only apply a pea sized amount to midlengths and ends if needed.

3. Tip your head upside down and roughly dry your hair removing 60% of the moisture in your hair before you start blowdrying, make sure your blow dryer is pointing down the hair shaft otherwise you will create frizz.

4. While you dry:
Blow-dry with a big, round brush. Lift hair at the roots and wrap 1-to 2-inch sections around a brush; aim the dryer nozzle upward.

5. After you dry:
Lock in lift with rollers. Wrap 1-to 2-inch pieces of hair at your crown around a few self-adhering Velcro rollers. Heat with your blow-dryer for 1 minute, then let cool, which helps hold the shape Gently unroll and shake out with your fingers (brushing flattens).

6. To finish:
Apply a fine layer of hairspray for hold. Mist into the air and walk into it rather than apply directly, to cut down on product buildup and help maintain bounce.

GREAT TIPS ON HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR HAIR THIS AUTUMN ! 💇🏽💇🏼💇🏻‍♀️👩🏻‍🦳💇🏼‍♀️

TIP 1.
Regular trims keep your hair healthy and allow it to grow quicker. Depending on the thickness of your hair you should try and fit in a visit to the hairdressers every 6-to-8 weeks. Trimming the split ends off stops your hair from splitting even further up the hair shaft so trimming your hair regularly will make your hair grow quicker than if you just left it.

TIP 2.
Use a UV protect range of styling products on your hair before going in the sun.. They are like sunscreen for your hair and protect your hair from the sun, wind, salt water and chlorine as well as help prevent your colour from fading too..

Or alternatively dampen your hair with water and coat it with conditioner before going in the sea. This will not only keep knots at bay and make it easier to style afterwards, but it'll protect your tresses and stop the salt from drying hair out.

TIP 3.
Comb your hair when it's wet rather than using a hairbrush to prevent split ends, start combing hair from the ends instead of the roots you will find it quicker and less painful to get the knots out.

TIP 4.
Seal your hair cuticles by rinsing them with cold water once you've rinsed the conditioner out - this will give your hair more of a shine. It sounds horrible, but it works!

TIP 5.
Sometimes, hair being very dry on the ends can make the roots look oily and look a lot worse than they really are. If it is an oil problem, clarifying shampoos will help to balance out your hairs sebum and strip the oil from your scalp and hair for a longer lasting, oil-free feel.

TIP 6.
Doing regular treatments on your hair helps to replenish moisture and protein back into your hair and make your hair feel healthy and soft. 💆🏻💆🏽💆🏼

My sincere apologies to anyone whose appointment I have had to reschedule due to my daughter being in and out of hospital. When I’m not hairdressing I am also a single mum to two kids under 6, my 19month old has Respiratory Airways Disease, Asthma and reoccurring bronculitis and usually spends winters in and out of PICU and JHCH on oxygen so I do apologise if sometimes I have to unexpectedly cancel your hair appointments unexpectedly. I’m offering 10% off your next hair appointment to anyone who has had their hair appointment rescheduled due to Mia being sick.. Please also if you are sick don’t get your hair done. What might just be a sniffle to you is a week in hospital on oxygen and steroids to my daughter so please be mindful of others with respiratory complications this winter.
