TE RONGO TINANA

I want to explain what Te Rongo Tinana actually is, because for me this work goes a lot deeper than just calling it massage.

The simplest way I can explain it is:

Listen to your body.

Your body has been with you through everything.

Every job you've worked. Every injury you've had. Every stressful period. Every relationship. Every time you've pushed yourself too hard. Every time you've rested. Every time you've ignored something because life was busy and you just had to keep going.

Your body has been there for all of it.

And it's constantly giving you feedback.

That's a huge part of how I work.

I'm not just looking for a sore shoulder so I can beat the crap out of it until you tell me it feels better šŸ˜‚

I'm listening.

I'm feeling what's happening underneath my hands.

Where are you holding?

Where are you resisting?

Where does your body soften?

What happens when I apply pressure?

What happens when I back off?

What happens to your breathing?

Where is movement restricted?

What is your body actually showing me?

That's Te Rongo Tinana for me.

My work brings together Māori healing practices including Mirimiri and Romiromi, alongside the other ways I've learnt to work with the body — remedial, deep tissue, fascial work, relaxation and simply years of putting my hands on people and learning to listen.

Sometimes you need deeper work.

Sometimes you need movement.

Sometimes we find something somewhere completely different to where you thought the problem was.

Sometimes your body just needs you to stop fighting it for a minute.

That's the feedback loop.

I do something.
Your body responds.
I listen.
I adjust.
Your body responds again.

We're not trying to overpower your body.

We're working with it.

Because I don't believe the body is just this annoying thing that starts hurting and needs fixing.

It's communicating with you all the time.

The problem is most of us have become bloody good at ignoring it.

We live up here 🧠 in our minds

Thinking.

Planning.

Worrying.

Working.

Reacting.

Getting s**t done.

Until eventually the body goes, "Oi... are you going to listen to me or what?"

šŸ˜‚

Te Rongo Tinana is an opportunity to come back into relationship with your body.

To slow down.

Feel.

Breathe.

Notice.

And listen.

You don't have to understand any of this before you come in either.

You don't need to know what technique you need.

You don't even necessarily need to know exactly what's wrong.

Come in.

Tell me what's going on.

Get on the table.

And let's see what your body tells us.

Te Rongo Tinana.

Listen to the body.
Work with it, not against it.

- or for those who use bodywork to clear the energetic blocks, seek some direction or clarity right now in life.

Im your plug. Your go to.
Been doing this for along time

In my perspective I know and believe most people could use and utilise what I offer in terms of body work/massage.

No im not like the ones in the shopping centres.
Im my own style and flow and no WTF im doing.

I read the body well.
Very underrated way to tend to medicinal, physical, pyschological and spiritual needs.
Can come in for just a decent massage or get the works. Either way i get it done.

Hi Sean here

A lot of people don’t actually need more advice.

They need somewhere they can be real.

No pretending.
No having to have it all together.
No being judged because life’s a bit messy.

That’s probably the simplest way I can explain what Michelle and I do.

We both work differently.

I tend to work through the body, intuition, conversation and what I call Rongomātau — paying attention to the feedback that’s already there.

Michelle has her own way of helping people untangle what’s going on, find clarity, work through the emotional stuff and move forward with a bit more understanding of themselves.

Sometimes people come in because their body hurts.

Sometimes they’re overwhelmed.

Sometimes their relationship is struggling.

Sometimes their kid needs someone safe to talk to.

Sometimes they just feel stuck and they don’t even know why.

We’re not here to tell you who you should be.

We’re not here to make you dependent on us either.

The whole point is to help you understand yourself better, trust yourself more, and find your own way forward.

That could look like:

🌿 Te Rongo Tinana bodywork (Massage)
🌿 Lymphatic work (Massage)
🌿 Coaching & mentoring
🌿 Intuitive readings
🌿 Wellbeing support for kids
🌿 Or simply having a bloody good conversation with someone who can actually hear you. (All services come with a good yarn)

We’re real people too.

We’ve had our own stuff going on.
We’ve made mistakes.
We’ve had to learn things the hard way.
And a lot of what we offer has come from actually living it, not just reading about it.

That matters to us.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come in.

You can just start where you are.

Kia ora, Sean here from Sean's Healing Hub

Mother’s Day is close.

And something I see often…
is how much mothers hold — quietly.

I respect that so much about women.

The pressure.
The responsibility.
The constant giving.

And not always the same coming back. None or very little complaining about raising our kids. Taking care of us men.

So this week, I’m keeping it simple.

With the Aroha and respect I have for our women, Mothers, Sisters , Daughters, Aunties, Grandmothers, Grand Daughters.
As a member of this community, give recognition and acknowledgement where it is due.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mums this coming Sunday.

Te Rongo Tinana – Intuitive Bodywork (Massage)
More than massage, this is a deeply restorative experience that supports the release of stored stress and brings the body back into coherence.

Lymphatic Blitz
A gentle yet powerful reset designed to reduce congestion, support detoxification, and leave you feeling lighter, clearer, and more energised.

Online Coaching Sessions
For those not in Chinchilla or unable to make it to the Hub, I’m also available for online sessions—offering guidance, clarity, and grounded support wherever you are.

A Prompt to Contemplate
Take a moment to sit with this:
ā€œWhat is my body trying to tell me that I haven’t been listening to?ā€

Notice what arises without judgement. Often, the body speaks long before the mind is ready to hear.

Book Your Session

Kia Ora Peeps, Sean here.

One thing I often ask women is this:

Is that actually true?
Or is that a story you’ve repeated so many times your body and mind started living as if it was true?

That question tends to stop people in their tracks.

Because a lot of women are not just dealing with life.
They are dealing with the story they’ve built around life.
The meaning they made.
The role they stepped into.
The identity they formed while trying to survive, stay connected, stay safe, stay loved, or stay needed.

Stories like:

I’m just an overthinker.
I’m the one who has to hold it all together.
I’m too much.
I’m not enough.
I always get overlooked.
I have to be careful.
It’s easier if I just do it myself.

After a while, those stories stop sounding like stories.
They start sounding like truth.

And once the mind and nervous system accept a story as true, everything starts getting filtered through it.

You start noticing what confirms it.
You start reacting from it.
You start expecting from it.
You start shaping your life around it.

That’s how a pattern becomes a personality.
That’s how survival becomes identity.
That’s how a woman can drift a long way from who she really is without even realising it.

This is a big part of recalibration.

Not just changing behaviour.
Not just ā€œthinking positive.ā€
Not just pretending a new belief while your body is still living in the old one.

Recalibration is being honest enough to ask:

Is this the truth?
Or is this just the version of me that got built through pain, pressure, protection, and repetition?

Because they are not the same thing.

And the story you have lived inside for years is not the only one available to you.

Sometimes the first real shift happens when a woman realises:

This isn’t who I am.
This is who I learned to be.

That changes a lot.

What’s a story you’ve been telling yourself for years that you’re starting to question now?

If you’re brave enough, drop it below.
You’ll probably find you’re not nearly as alone in it as you thought.

Kia Ora Peeps, Sean here.

A lot of women have become so good at being strong that nobody questions how much it costs them.

They keep showing up.
They keep carrying.
They keep sorting things out.
They keep being the calm one, the dependable one, the one who can handle it.

But being ā€œthe strong oneā€ for too long can come with a price.

Tension in the body.
Shortness in the fuse.
Emotional exhaustion.
Overthinking.
Disconnection.
Feeling flat.
Feeling resentful.
Feeling like you’ve got nothing left by the time it’s your turn.

That doesn’t mean there is something wrong with you.

It usually means your system has been compensating for too long.

A lot of women were never taught how to stay connected to themselves while also holding responsibility.
They were taught to keep going.
Keep pleasing.
Keep functioning.
Keep it together.

That works for a while.
Until it doesn’t.

Recalibration is not about becoming less capable.
It’s about becoming more honest.
So your strength stops coming from survival and starts coming from alignment.

That changes everything.
