This photograph from 1957 shows a young Kashmir village girl taking tea - in traditional Samavar - to the rest of her family members working in the fields. This is and remains a routine in Kashmir periphery. It is as true with rice fields as it is with apple orchards. The Samavar is a traditional flask that has a heating system inbuilt and it is endemic to Kashmir.
