New recommendation for RSV immunisations under the 2026 WA RSV Maternal and Infant Immunisation Program.

All infants born between 1st October 2025 and 31st March 2026 irrespective of the mother’s immunisation status, should be offered Beyfortus (RSV immunisation) to boost protection for the winter RSV season.

Important Update: Medicare Assignment Form Requirement (Effective July 1, 2026)

To Our Valued Patients,

We are providing an important update regarding changes to Medicare billing procedures that will take effect on July 1, 2026. In compliance with new regulations, all patients will be required to sign a Medicare assignment form when receiving bulk billed services. This measure is essential to ensure that our General Practitioners (GPs) receive appropriate remuneration for the vital healthcare services they deliver.

Understanding the New Requirement:

Beginning July 1, 2026, for all bulk-billed services, you will be asked to complete and sign a Medicare assignment form, this can be done either electronically via sms or manually.

This form formally acknowledges your agreement to assign your Medicare benefit directly to our practice, enabling us to process claims on your behalf. Please be advised that without a signed Medicare assignment form, we will be unable to bulk bill for your services. This streamlined process is crucial for the continued provision of bulk-billed services and supports the sustained delivery of high-quality medical care by our GPs.

We recognize that procedural changes can sometimes raise questions, and our team is dedicated to assisting you. Our reception staff will be readily available to provide clarification and guide you through the signing process during your visits. Additional detailed information will also be accessible at our clinic as the effective date approaches.

We’re excited to welcome Dr Cristian Hertzer to Lagoon Medical Centre Beeliar.

Dr Hertzer is a Canadian-trained General Practitioner with experience across hospital medicine, general practice, addiction medicine, and preventive health care. He is passionate about helping patients take a proactive approach to their health and wellbeing, supporting them through every stage of life.

With a strong focus on building long-term health, Dr Hertzer has special interests in preventive health, longevity, metabolic health, and sports medicine. He is committed to providing thoughtful, patient-centred care and helping patients create sustainable foundations for a healthier future.

Patients appreciate Dr Hertzer’s approachable nature and collaborative style, taking the time to listen, educate, and work together on achievable health goals.

The Coogee Centre will be closed from Friday the 3rd to the 6th of April and will re-open at 8am on Tuesday the 7th of April. During this closure GP appointments can still be made via Hotdocs or you can call Beeliar on 08 6117 0480.

The Beeliar Centre will remain open and offering GP and Urgent Care Services ALL long weekend from 8am to 6pm. You can contact the clinic by calling 08 6117 0480 to make appointments.

Urgent Care Clinic:
🚨 Open EVERY DAY – 8:00am to 6:00pm
(No appointments needed – walk in only)

If you are North of the river our Yanchep Centre will also be offering GP and Medicare Urgent Care Services. Yanchep will be open ALL Long Weekend from 7am to 7pm, no appointments needed Urgent Care is walk in only. You can call Yanchep on 08 9513 9050.
