What is VG10 steel?

Our premium grade scissors are made from VG10 Japanese steel.

This is a much higher grade stainless steel with a higher carbon content. It is generally used in the highest grade scissors and chef's knives, containing 15% Chromium, 1% Carbon, 1% Molybdenum, 0.2% Vanadium, 1.5% Cobalt, and 0.5% Manganese. It is also commonly referred to as Damascus steel, originally created for the Japan's leading chefs and now leading hairdressers.

Our scissors are hand crafted and superb quality. You can find these scissors for sale at $1,200 and we challenge you to see if you can tell the difference. When tested, most of our customers could not tell the difference between a $1,200 scissor and our VG10 range at $149.95 to $299.95.
