I know some of my clients are heading to the Perth Royal Show this year — so if your horse is one of them, now is the time to start thinking about their preparation.

Royal can mean travel, long days, plenty of standing around, unfamiliar environments and an increased workload. Giving your horse some time and attention before they arrive can be a valuable part of getting them ready.

A Pre-Royal Equine Sports Massage gives me the opportunity to assess how your horse is presenting, work through areas of tension and help them head into their busy week feeling comfortable and prepared.

Because preparation isn’t just about getting them looking the part — it’s about making sure they’re feeling the part too. 🤎

Why I don’t believe deeper always means better. 🐴

A massage doesn’t need to be painful to be effective.
Every horse has different levels of sensitivity, muscle tone and tension, so the pressure I use is adjusted to the individual horse and the area I’m working on!

Sometimes deeper pressure is appropriate. Sometimes a lighter, slower approach is more beneficial.

I’m paying attention to how the tissues respond and how your horse responds…not simply how much pressure I can apply :)

The goal isn’t to go as deep as possible.
It’s to use the right pressure for the horse in front of me 🐴🤍

There are plenty of people offering massage and other therapies, but when it comes to your horse, who you choose matters.

Look for someone who is qualified, understands equine anatomy and movement, works within their scope of practice and knows when something needs to be referred on to another professional.

Your horse deserves more than someone who simply knows how to rub muscles. They deserve someone who understands WHY they’re doing it🤍.

Unsure where to find credible professionals? Equine Therapies Association of Australia Inc is a great place to look for qualified practitioners who are happy and ready to help you and your horse, no matter the modality. 🐴✨
