âMy father didnât tell me how to live; he lived and let me watch him do itâ
This morning we watched doctors, electricians, dogmen & CEOâs braiding hair like they were diffusing a roadside bomb.
Our first-ever Unearthed⢠Dad & Daughter camp finished today. An experience in the wilderness that gave Dads & their girls time together that life rarely allows.
Dads flew in from around the country to be there.
After gaining newly acquired braiding skills, the girls dunked their fatherâs heads in glitter that proved impossible to get off.
There would have been some sheepish servo stops and plane rides this afternoon.
Every Dad came to the weekend wanting to give his daughter the best shot at life.
Watching their love, patience and willingness to be uncomfortable was maybe the highlight of our year.
These girls are in the most safest of hands.
Today, and this week - ask your daughter to teach you something she loves. A dance. A game. A hairstyle. Give her your full attention and youâll find a little pot of gold - we promise.
Happy Fatherâs Day to all the Dads out there.
Our adventure experiences literally started as a side project when the world was mostly locked down during the Pandemic.
We just wanted to make something cool and inspiring. That got kids outdoors spending quality time with their parents again. That was fun for us to make too.
That period of time completely sucked for most of us.
And it snowballed from there.
Last weekend saw us return to the Glass House Mountains.
Busy Dads yearning for adventure brought their sons, to try and slow down time and step into a better version of their families.
It worked.
Some Dads cracked jokes. Some cried. Almost all left more connected to their children, the new mates they made and themselves.
Adventure is not just the once-a-year trip. Itâs a way of seeing life. And plowing through it.

BEAUTIFULLY HUMAN
Beautifully Human introduces some of the remarkable people who work with us, create with us and help bring Beautiful MindsÂŽ to life.
Dan is one of the presenters behind our wildly popular Instant Thunder⢠Dad & Son experiences.
Dan served as an Australian Army infantry soldier with the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, including a deployment to Afghanistan in 2010.
During that deployment, Dan was seriously wounded after being caught in an explosion.
War is mystery and terror and adventure and courage and tiredness and longing and love.
Some of Danâs hardest battles came after he returned home.
The physical injuries were one thing. The psychological aftermath, PTSD, depression and the difficult transition from soldier to civilian were another.
There were periods when Danâs life came frighteningly close to coming apart.
What followed wasnât a neat redemption story.
It was the slower, harder work of rebuilding.
Today, the role Dan cares about most isnât soldier or presenter.
Itâs husband to Karlee.
Dad to his two kids.
And being present for both.
Thatâs also part of what makes him such a powerful person to have at Instant Thunder.
We believe stories can save us.
And when Dan sits around a fire with fathers and sons talking about vulnerability, fear or what it means to become a good man, it isnât theory.
Heâs lived it.
How was your weekend?

Last weekend saw one of our greatest-ever Mother & Daughter experiences.
The ancient, mysterious, but awe-inspiring Noosa Everglades. Kangaroos the size of Origin players. Stargazing & Smores.
An experience where frazzled families could put their armour down and become their best selves.
The kind of growth that lasts far beyond our special weekend together.
