AN INSIGHT TO MY HAIRDRESSING CAREER & A CHAPTER OF MY LIFE!!!

It’s all about the Inspiration 🙌🙌🙌

As this year concludes I would like to reflect on my 20 years in business 💇🏻‍♀️

I would like to share with you all a brief Biography I wrote a few months before I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October 2019 📖

Also a Photo Shoot I created in 2018 which was my inspiration of connecting my thoughts, moods & feelings into a story after the Dunalley Bushfires in 2013 💁🏻‍♀️

MY BIOGRAPHY 💇🏻‍♀️ (written early 2019)
My desire to become a Hairdresser all started when I used to put rollers in my dad’s hair.
He was one of my biggest influences for me throughout my career until 10 years ago when he passed away.
I found after my father’s death Hairdressing not only became a space where I could create great hair but a focus to heal & move forward.
I feel Hairdressing has many attributes, so when I create hair it is a feeling of enjoyment & satisfaction to make others feel good.
My Hairdressing career started almost 30 years ago.
In 1999, I started my journey of being a business owner of a boutique salon in the heart of a seaside town, Dunalley & becoming a proud mum to my first child 20 years ago. I am now a mother of four gorgeous children & productively running my own business in a industry that I am passionate about.
(Temporary Closed)

This space has been my beautiful oasis where I have been inspired to create Hair & provide an ultimate professional experience whilst my clients relaxed in a tranquil setting.
My philosophy has been to be the best I can be by being pro active with education. Pushing my boundaries allowed me to step out of my comfort zone to learn in a forever evolving industry, so I can provide my clients with the ultimate experience.

Running a business & balancing family life has had many challenges but without those hard times there wouldn’t have been opportunities.
Whilst attending TAFE as an apprentice I was awarded a diploma of Business Administration/Salon Manager
& Diploma of Beauty Therapy. I have attended many educational classes, look & learn workshops specialising in cutting, colour & styling.
I have built & developed a solid technical understanding in all aspects of Keune colour, cutting & styling enabling to perform diverse specialty & personalised services. Education is extremely important to me. I have been fortunate enough to attend masterclasses interstate & globally. I have been so privileged to have learnt & met some amazing artists all over the world. One of my biggest achievements in my career was last year travelling to Brazil to part of Keune’s International Masters Tour.
In 2013 a Bushfire swept through my hometown, Dunalley, causing significant damage to the township. The bushfire destroyed a big part of my community & I was left to decide wether to carry on with the business. This had a major impact on my life, my family, friends & clients. It was a devastating feeling of grieve & loss. It was hard to know what to say to some of my clients who had lost everything & I knew for my own personal grief I needed to transition my thoughts into something I enjoy & that’s ‘Hair’. The photoshoot ‘Phoenix - Rising from the Ashes’ was so meaningful & inspirational for me.
I feel so grateful where I am today & for all the lovely people that have helped me through my career.

INSPIRATION & STORY 🙌
My inspiration is the Phoenix-a long lived bird that regenerates or is otherwise born again-a symbol of rebirth & renewal which relates to hardship & destruction. My inspiration not only embodies the Phoenix theme of rebirth but it has a profound memory attached from the Dunalley Bushfires 2013, my hometown & business location. Just like the bird, my personal journey as a hairdresser/stylist, mother & wife was to to rise from the ashes for the rebuild of properties from total destruction & ruin & to help heal & transform others to make them feel renewed again from emotional scarring.

EMOTION & COLOUR ❤️🖤
The emotion from my Inspiration & Story is the Art of Colour-Chiaroscuro the use of strong bold colours between Light & Dark. The Light of the Fire illuminating the Dark of the Ashes. The artistic side to the story for the rising of Dark Drama Colours to the Brilliance of Light Colours. Also the mood of Dark emphasises depression, devastation, grief & loss & the mood of Light resembling new life, growth, revival & restoration.

THE PHOENIX FARM 💙
www.phoenixfarm.com.au
My good friends Mike & Noel, their home was destroyed in the Dunalley Bushfires 2013 & they have named their property the Phoenix Farm which is open to the public. This is where I go to clear my thoughts & to unwind. They have created a beautiful garden & fresh produce from the regeneration & revegetation from the Bushfires. Not only do I find it relaxing but they have great food - farmhouse breakfast, delicious light lunches, devonshire tea & welcoming accommodation.

IN THE LIFE OF MY BO***ES!!! 👙

Today is the day where I get to show those nasty cells who’s boss & I can start to conquer this terrible disease 💪

I have spent many hours studying the wide spectrum of this disease & what I do know is that everyone is different & what is right for someone else may not be right for me.
With the support of my treatment care team & my family I feel a little more in control with the right treatment option for me 👍

Over the last few weeks I have suffered some of my toughest days with uncertainty & fear.
I bet you have never seen a woman dressed up doing the housework & wearing lipstick, well that’s me☝️It’s my way of getting through each day with a little dignity & self care & showing you ‘Cancer’ you can F # OFF.
I have struggled with crazy hormones, fatigue & fluid retention. I have found herbal teas to be helpful but if anyone has any other recommendations please just fire away 🙏

I am disappointed I am going to miss some of my children’s achievements whilst I recover. We have all worked very hard throughout the year juggling each other’s participation in extra curricular & school activities so a big Thank you to my family & friends for your love & support for being there for them when I can’t
🎖 💖

To my Children,
I know its been a difficult time for you all trying to come to terms with your Mumma bear being unwell. You all have made me so proud of the little people you have become. Your kindness & love you share for each other will give you all the courage & strength to build an empire together ♥️ I want you all to know I love you for just being yourselves & seeing you all happy is the best feeling & gift I could have. We can’t change yesterday’s pain or know what’s going to happen tomorrow but we can give everyday we wake up the blessing of living life to the fullest & that’s the way we roll 🤟❤️
You have been incredibly patient & kind to your little brother who we know sees & understands in his own unique way. His little world & yours has been turned upside down. His routine has been somewhat challenged & I commend you all on how you have helped him through this.
After conversations of trying to help him understand I described to him ‘my breast is like a mouldy piece of bread’ & ‘we need to throw that unhealthy piece away’. Surprisingly he said ‘I get it now’ 😁👍

To my Hubby,
I sympathise with you for putting up with me being an emotional train-wreck some days & I know I’m stubborn & overly independent but your support doesn’t go unnoticed. You have been by my side with my care team appointments & given me the courage to do what’s right for me.
Please be strong today 💪 & as our youngest would say “Harden up Buttercup” 💙

To my Family,
I appreciate the unconditional love & support you give me. You all find the time to show me you care. Thank you all for holding my hand through this journey 🧡

To my Children, Hubby & Family,
A day does not go by where I don’t think about how much I love you all ❤️ You are my World 🌍 💛

To my Friends & Clients,
Thank you all for your generosity & wisdom. Your messages have all been so positive & powerful that some days it has given me the strength to fight that little bit harder 🤝🥰

To my Hairdressing Friends,
I miss you all & miss being part of our wonderful industry 💇🏻‍♀️
My youngest daughter is not liking my hair, she says it’s too thin & grey lol 😝 She also said, ‘she does not want me to have a plastic boob’ 😂 I assured her that was not going to happen 🙅🏻‍♀️ I think she is spending too much time playing with her barbie dolls so I said ‘well let’s meet half way, I promise not to have any plastic parts but hopefully when this is all over I will have gorgeous hair & no greys’ 💁🏻‍♀️
I may look like s**t now but I look forward to looking like a glam queen after my recovery so sucked in ‘Cancer’ this is when I get to kick your butt 👊 and wear the crown on my head 👸

To my Pink Sisters,
Thank you for welcoming me & for your friendship & support. Looking forward to meeting with you all soon 💞 Sisters - Tassie

To my Care Team,
Well what can I say my Bo***es have never had so much attention. So let’s get this party started & I will do what I do best & razz you all up just that little bit more!!! 🤩

Hey Cancer!
You picked the wrong Bitch!!! 👊

See you all on the flip side ✌️

PS I am wearing PINK LIPSTICK 💄💗

Much Love 💕

💗 UPDATE & APPRECIATION POST 💗

I would like to express gratitude to everyone that has sent me messages of love & support. Your messages have given me strength & positive energy. After further clinical consultations, tests & an incredible team of doctors I am much clearer of my journey ahead 💖

It’s been so overwhelming & I have struggled to come to terms with the diagnosis as it’s a strange feeling not being in the salon & I am missing you all immensely. My life has changed so quickly for myself & family. My body is also going through lots of changes & with the trauma of it all I am starting to lose some of my hair. I am using the Keune Care Haircosmetics to restore & revitalise my hair 🥰 Keune-Haircosmetics

When I am resting thank god for social media as I scan through my Sister Keune Salons posts of gorgeous hair & my mind is in overload wondering what colour formulas were used? 🙋🏻‍♀️

How AMAZING!!! is the new KEUNE COLOUR CHAMELEON range??? 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

It looks that good it’s on fire 🔥🔥🔥 If I lose my hair I am thinking of a Colour Chameleon Wig 🤔 Who can work their creative art on the best Colour Chameleon Wig for me please? 🌈 💁🏻‍♀️ Treena Bradshaw Keune Haircosmetics (Australia & New Zealand) Keune Haircosmetics

I am determined to kick Cancer in the butt 👊
And sorry Mum for the swear word 🤭 but F # YOU CANCER!!! 💪

Thank you all for uplifting me 💗

Dear Clients,

As you all may know this year I have celebrated 20 years in business. It is with great sadness I am taking an unplanned break from the business. I have recently been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The news has come as a real shock & I am still in disbelief. It has been difficult for me to accept that I need to put down my tools for a while because as most of you know I don’t like taking orders!!! In this case the doctor has ordered & for my own health & emotional well-being just this one time I have listened. But I will be back, much stronger than ever 💪
I am truly thankful for all your support & so blessed to have you beautiful people in my life. I am going to embrace this time with my precious family to build my strength & resilience. For the meantime, my Keune Lovers ❤️ please contact Treena Bradshaw 0448 700 913 - Tassie’s Keune Technical & Business Consultant for all your Hairdressing needs by my Sister Salons Keune Haircosmetics (Australia & New Zealand) Keune Haircosmetics
