🌟 What inspired you to pursue a career in the hair industry?
I knew at 15, after a week of work experience with my hairdresser. I fell in love with the creativity, energy and connection and how hair could make someone feel seen, confident and empowered. 🥰
🌟 One piece of advice for someone starting out in hairdressing?
Hustle - especially in the beginning. Learn from everyone you meet, then take what resonates and make it your own. That’s how you build your style, confidence and approach. ☑️
🌟 What’s your go-to song or playlist that gets you in the zone while working in the salon?
‘Upbeat Country mix’ playlist 🤠
🌟 Fun fact people might not know?
I grew up horse riding and competing in rodeos. At one stage I was ranked top 10 in the state for Barrel Racing. 🐎
🌟 Top tip to stay motivated during busy or tough times?
Keep creativity alive in small ways. I encourage little changes with clients, like a softer fringe, new tone or shape. Those small shifts keep things exciting for both of us. ✂
🌟 If you could style any celebrity’s hair for a day, who would it be and why?
Stevie Nicks or Natasha Lyonne. Stevie for the effortless glamour; Natasha for the cool, textured, rebellious energy. I love hair that feels lived-in, a little wild and unapologetic. 💋
🌟 What do you know now that you wish you had known earlier in your career?
I learnt that boundaries and business matter as much as creativity. Knowing your value, protecting your energy and balancing creativity with strategy is what creates longevity. 🤔
🌟 What key lesson have you learnt that transformed your business or mindset?
Clients and seasons evolve - and that’s okay. As you grow, your standards, direction and people change too. Once I stopped resisting that and started leading through it, everything felt more aligned. 💯
🌟 What do you love about being part of AHC?
The education and support. Hairdressing is creativity, business, leadership and regulation. The AHC gives me up-to-date knowledge and advocates for our industry - that gives me confidence to grow. 🫂
