Happy Birthday Dad 🎈
Another year another birthday.
You would’ve been 79!

Some things Ive learnt about you:
❤️ You travelled to Hong Kong
❤️ You were really good a taking photos
❤️ You smoked for a few years
❤️ You still had your Grade 3/4 science book with a note from the teacher about how your work wasn’t neat enough! (It looked pretty neat to me!)
❤️ You were driving trucks 🛻 from a young age & helping moving buildings & houses 🏘️
❤️ You had to give up you’re beloved V8 for a family car
❤️ How names on photos would be really handy
❤️ Mum dobbed you in about a belly full of beer story
❤️ I think I’ve finally worked out which dog is Shepp

Some things that haven’t changed around here:
🤣 I still spill my food on my clothes - definitely got that gene
🤣 I also still haven’t got the gardening gene 🧬
🤣 Booma & The Kids (dogs) are still looking after me
❤️ It still isn’t clear if you chased mum or mum chased you

Things we miss:
🛻 the banter every year about Carlton v Melbourne - just for the record Carlton is the best team 💪🏼
🛻 going on a day trip
🛻 the cheeky caramel tarts - confession: I don’t really like them but I ate it lol - also got both sides of sweet gene
🛻 giving you a hug
🛻 seeing how happy & proud you were (& still are) of spending time with your family
🛻 the way you cooked your famous chips - we burn them

Most of all we all miss you & would love nothing more than to take you out for your birthday 🎈

Love you Dad
❤️ your girls, booma, chris & kids 🐶🐶🐶🐈‍⬛

2 years. Already.
It’s the day forever in my heart & mind as the day we said goodbye.

I definitely lost a part of me that day, devastated that I wouldn’t physically see you, hug you, go on a day trip or just simply spend time with you anymore but grateful for those times & you being my Dad.

As I spend the day in the waves of grief, I remind myself that it’s normal to miss you, to be more triggered than normal, do nothing, emotionally eat, look at old photos & slides as it helps me process losing you & makes tomorrow a little easier.

And for anyone else having a moment like today, a reminder to just letting yourself cry, ball, blab, whatever you call it & wherever you are, letting it out, you’ll feel lighter, still sad but lighter.
Something I’ve learnt to say is “I’m just having a moment”

My amazing sister (& her hubby for scanning all the photos), did a photo book of Dad with photos of family, childhood & times in life.
The above photo is a couple of my favourites ❤️

Love you Dad ❤️🚛❤️🚛

Those pesky greys come through after a week!
I’m needing to have my colour done every 2-4 weeks max!

“I want to be lighter but not blonde, how do I do that?”

Well, I can help you!
My favourite hairdressing service is helping you go a bit lighter, not always blonde, just lighter to help start to blend your regrowth and add some dimension to your colour, let me give you an example

You’re currently a medium to dark brown or even black and having to have your regrowth done every 2-4 weeks. And you want to be, let’s say a nice chocolate brown, a colour that helps blend your regrowth better and makes your grey not as obvious when as it grows.

I have a few different ways i can approach this, depending on your hair history, we can add some blonde foils or it might just be as simple as adjusting your regrowth colour, either way i love to see how lighting up your hair a little bit or more than a bit can make a huge difference, finding the right tone for you is my favourite part!

Years ago I had a client who coloured her hair herself a burgundy brown and each time would pull the colour straight through her ends, so her ends got darker and darker, there was a noticeable difference between her roots and ends. Her regrowth was white, a beautiful white grey, the colour most of us dream of when going grey! After many chats about what could be done, she was ready to make the change and over time, each visit we would adjust her regrowth colour to gradually be lighter, it was process, i'm not going to lie, there were times she hated it, but persevered and eventually we got there, a nice beige blonde. She was so happy and could get away with not needing her colour done for 6-8 weeks. She would alway say, “do what you think, I trust you.” I love it when my clients trust me!

Other clients have been a good regrowth colour but just want some blonde foils to break up their one colour, this adds some lightness and movement to your do!

I love formulating a colour that is just for you! Unique to your eye colour, skin tone & lifestyle!

Wherever you are in your hair journey, i'm here to help, with over 20 years experience, you are in good hands!
