💚I’ve been supporting Flynn through his hair journey since 2023, and what a journey it has been! 💚

💚The first photo was August 2024 — when haircuts were often done on the run, with big emotions 💚

Fast forward to TODAY… 😀✂️

💚For the first time ever, Flynn sat for the whole time while having his haircut AND wore a cape! 🎉💚

💚What may seem like a small thing to some is actually a HUGE milestone for Flynn.💚

💚It’s about trust, feeling safe and building confidence — one little step at a time.💚

I couldn’t be prouder of you, Flynn! 💚

Calming Cuts is celebrating 6 incredible years. 💚✂️

When I started this journey, I simply wanted to create a safe, understanding space where neurodivergent children and adults could have a positive haircut experience. I never imagined just how many amazing families I would meet along the way.

To every family who has trusted me over the past six years—thank you. Your love, support and encouragement have meant more than words can say.

As someone who lives in a neurodiverse household, I understand that a haircut is about so much more than just cutting hair. It’s about building trust, reducing anxiety, respecting sensory needs, celebrating the little victories, and supporting families who often face challenges that others don’t always see.

One of the greatest joys of my job is watching my clients grow in confidence. Seeing someone who once found haircuts overwhelming gradually become comfortable, relaxed and even smile during their appointment is incredibly rewarding.

And while it might sound strange for a hairdresser to say this, one of my proudest moments is when a client has gained so much confidence that they no longer need my safe space and are ready to have their hair cut in a regular salon. Watching them spread their wings and achieve something that once felt impossible fills my heart with so much joy. That’s what Calming Cuts has always been about—building confidence and helping people reach their goals.

Thank you to every family who has been part of this journey. Thank you for allowing me to be part of yours.

To the families who are already part of the Calming Cuts family, thank you for your trust, your kindness and for sharing your journey with me. And to those who are yet to walk through my door, I can’t wait to welcome you into the Calming Cuts family, where every haircut is at your pace, every achievement is celebrated, and everyone is accepted just as they are.

The school holidays can be a great time for our kids and to have their haircut in a calm, familiar, and supportive environment, without the added pressures of the school routine.

I fully understand that haircuts can be challenging for our kids. That’s why i take the time to work at your child’s pace, building trust and creating a positive experience for the whole family. 💚

💚I would like to introduce you to Zaks friend, his support worker Sha. He has been part of our family for over 3 years. Sha supports Zak with his OT & Speech appointments plus they catch up on the weekends and go on lots of adventures. Seeing Zak grow in confidence since having Sha in our family has been wonderful to watch.

💚Sha now has availability in his week to support some more families.
I’ve given Sha from Arden Support the opportunity to share a bit about himself and what he can offer other families to my Calming Cuts family.

Looking for Clients in South East Melbourne

Hi Everyone,

Im a disability support worker based in Chadstone and I service all of South East and East Melbourne metro areas.

Sadly one of my main clients has lost majority of their funding and so I am on the search for new clients to fill the vacancies in my roster.

A bit about me:

I am a 28yo Male, in my spare time I enjoy staying active and spending time with friends and family. I also really enjoy creating stuff with my hands ie. building and renovating, working on cars, fixing broken items, home decoration and landscaping.

I have been working in this field for 3+ years and primarily have worked with ASD clients focusing on community access, skill building, general assistance around the home. I also am very handy and can support with handy man services and general house maintenance.

Though I primarily have worked with ASD clients I also have experience with clients affected by a variety of other disabilities.


I am relatively flexible but primarily available Mondays before 3pm and all day Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

I have all the relevant checks including: Working with Children, NDIS Worker Screening, NDIA Modules, Advanced First Aid, Police Check, Etc

💚 A Good News Story 💚

💚Firstly, I just want to say a massive thank you to my Calming Cuts family for all your love and support during Jayden’s recovery — it truly means the world to us 💚

💚Time for a little update on Jayden…
💚His resilience is absolutely mind-blowing.💚

💚Over the years, Jay has loved the show Rockwiz, and it’s always been a dream of his to be a contestant. After everything he went through last year — including spending an incredible 152 days in hospital — he has shown me what true strength and determination looks like.💚

💚On Good Friday, Jayden achieved that dream. He won his way onto Rockwiz, sitting alongside Tex Perkins and Kitty Flanagan… and they took out the win! 🥇💚

💚Such a proud mumma moment 😀 and ofcourse I jumped online and read all the positive comments about my boy, I honestly couldn’t be prouder 🎤🎺💚
