Despite the lack of signage currently on the building I must reiterate this is NOT Escape Hair Design or any of their team members. Gahhhhhh.....my hairdresser is temporarily closed!!!

Are there any positives to this situation you ask?

After much pondering I have some ideas for you!

1. Chances are you are not in the public eye right now, so take this opportunity to stop using your hot styling tools (tongs, dryers, hot brushes and irons etc). This will give your hair a chance to recover and be healthier.

2. Leave it an extra day before wash day. The natural oils will be good for your hair and scalp condition.

3. Take a moment to put that deep conditioning treatment on your hair.....you know the one you bought from me but sits in the back of your bathroom cabinet because you never had time to use it!!!!

4. Have you always wondered what your natural curl/wave/hair looked like, but you were too scared to try in case you looked like a frizzy mess at work? Now's the time!!! Be patient as hair has a memory and it will form a better texture and shape with time.

5. Are you sick of being a slave to covering your pesky grey hair? Maybe this is the time to grow your colour out? (Omg I just experienced a cyber slapping from my accountant and many clients over that one).

6. Grab your scarves/head bands and ties and Bobby pins. Have some fun trying some new styles.

Dear Escape Family

It is with a heavy heart that we announce today that we are going into hibernation effective immediately.

After waiting patiently for the government to come to their senses and declare that hairdressing is not an 'essential service', I have taken the step of declaring it myself.

I would like to say a few words about my amazing team if I may....Narelle, Megan and Ella have stood loyally by my side whilst this drama unfolded, these gorgeous women continually came to work to share their skills, humor and warm natures with you all. They never once complained about standing by my side during this trying time. A big thank you from the bottom of my heart to these beautiful talented women. I will miss you all and our daily chats.

To the clients I call my 'Escape Family' a big thank you for your support over the past 21 years. Some of you have been coming into Escape to have your hair done weekly for all of this time! I shall miss you all dearly and my world will not be the same....we've laughed together, cried together and everything in between. We have celebrated the weddings, the new babies, career changes and we have said goodbye to some special clients too.

It has been an absolute honor to have been part of your lives. The support shown by our Escape family has been absolutely amazing - so many calls, visits and so many kind words.

So, you are probably wondering where I am going with all of this....a brief goodbye, a chance to recharge and a new chapter to begin once it is safe to do so.
